Appear as a burial tomb figurine, pottery figurine is a product of the concept of ancient funeral, and is a direct reflection of the system and the funeral rituals. In the Han period, the figurines in tombs as funerary objects reached its peak. Since the fifties last century, thousands of Han tombs were excavated in Guangzhou. Pottery figurines were unearthed in those tombs. Those pottery figurines are of great variety and clear-cut assignment of responsibility, including figurines of waitress, figurines of warrior, figurines of dancer. Among them some showed a special image, those figurines haved high nose deep-set eyes, more prominent chin, face was beard and had chest hair. Those Physical Characteristics indicated their were minority person。Attempting to explore the composition of nationality source of domestic "slaves" in Han Dynasty local powerful families and the reason of the emergence of pottery figurines of minority person, the paper introduced the unearthed pottery figurines and illustrated how those figurines used in tombs.In conclusion, the emergence of pottery figurines not only advertised the riches and honour but also created the posthumous honour of the ower of the tomb. Great variety of Han Dynasty pottery figurines, that were closely related to social life, provided most improtant image information that can help us to understand Han society better.
