"Red Detachment Of Women" Cross-text Research

In the late nineties of last century,there was a great fever of adapting the red classics in literary and art circles.A series of long-silenced literary works with the theme of revolution conflict,such as The Guerrilla Warfare in Northeast China,Song of Youth and Red Flag,began to revive with the emergence of film and television adaptions of the red classics.As a member of the red classics,“The Red Detachment of Women” is no exception.It was originally adapted to reportage by LIU Wenshao according to the true story of a female soldier company recorded in War History of Qiongya Column.Then it continued to be adapted to a variety of art forms,onto the stage,books and screens.This dissertation is a research on the different versions of The Red Detachment of Women,including reportage version in 1957,Xie Jin's film version in 1961,revolutionary model opera version in 1967,Ballet version and Yuanjun's television version in 2006,with the research method of cultural poetics,to further discuss the differences and connections between each work,to clarify the relationship between the works,the work and the cultural background,and the significance of the works to the construction of cultural values at that time.(Introduction)No matter what forms of art texts are inseparable from the mutual integration of content and form.In addition,the profound changes in the content of the art text play an extremely important influence on the expression pf the art form.Therefore the author firstly focuses on how the theme of The Red Detachment of Women changes when proceeding the cross-text research.As the initial reportage version of The Red Detachment of Woman,it praised the joy of revolutionary spirit;the film version payed attention to the growth of revolutionary women,highlighted the personality of human-being;the revolutionary model version,however,became the propaganda tool of political thought,to create model proletarian revolutionary heroes;and then to the adaption of the TV Drama text,which conformed the public taste,the director was more concerned about the drama of the female army as a woman's emotional development.In this chapter,the author reveals that the theme change of “The Red Detachment of Women” has an inseparable relationship with the change of the artistic form of different texts and the historical and cultural context in which the texts were born.(Chapter 1)Creating artistic work needs a good topic.Good topic depends on a good story.Captivating characters also can be created by the good story.Because of the different types and themes of The Red Detachment of Women,the characters are built to convey different information.The author analyzed the dynamic personalities of Wu Qionghua,Nan Batian,Hong Changqing and Dai Honglian.Then take the new character Nanyangnv as the starting point to analyze its existence value.(Chapter 2)The expression of spiritual connotation is embodied in the shaping of characters and the shaping of the characters cannot be separated from the narrative plot.So the author studied different texts narrative strategies of The Red Detachment of Women.Discussed the transition of different texts narrative strategies and the influence of symbol and rhetorical changes on narrative.At last found out the law of artistic change in different version.(Chapter 3 and Chapter 4)In the modern society,people are getting more and more materialistic.They need to review some kind of classic revolutionary production like The Red Detachment of Women and heart-searching.So the author chose The Red Detachment of Women as research object.There are plenty of artistic forms about The Red Detachment of Women.In this paper,reportage,Xie Jin's movie,ballet,ballet model opera and the new TV series are researched.I was touched by the revolutionary spirit and optimism in reportage and film text but the TV text is unsatisfactory.The problems in TV series text of The Red Detachment of Women can be found everywhere in nowadays adaptations.How to carry forward the history classics and fulfill modern civil the emptiness of spiritual life is worth us to ponder.(Conclusion)...
