Viola was developedin the early 16 th century of Italy;However,its history as a solo instrument is still relatively short and with limited solo works and literature.Although Stalmiz and Mozart have written viola works in the 18 th century,they are not mature.Until the 19 th century,Berlioz developed the symphony “Harold in Italy” for Paganini,which could be regarded as one example of concerto music in title music.The author overviews previous literature research and analyzes these works' background and performance skills,the "title" music features and etc.The author,as a viola player,developed a better understanding of this piece of work through the writing of the paper.A more comprehensive knowledge and the analysis of this piece of symphony improve the performance and expand the knowledge of viola-related field.It also appreciates viola's performance and study of the work.
