After the return from Rio de Janeiro to France in 1921,the composer Darius Milhaud was deeply influenced by the passion,freedom and unrestrained style of the Brazilian folk song and dance.Therefore,incorporated with the memories and longing for Brazilian life,the works of Saudades Do Brasil was to show the composer’s deep love to Brazilian folk music and his exquisite composing techniques.Taking the Piano Suite Saudades Do Brasil as object of study,and concord skills as cut in points,starting from the overall and details,this text made exquisite study and analysis on the works and then summarized the internal logic and its application from the perspective of concord.The paper is divided into three parts:The first part is the introduction.It mainly discusses the topic selection,the meaning of the topic,the status of research,the research methods and other aspects.This part offered a solid foundation for the further analysis.The second part is the main part of this paper.It is divided into four chapters.The first chapter gives a brief overview of the composer’s life,the creative background of the work,and the origin of the composer’s educational background and creative background.The second chapter made analysis in details on the application and layout in term of mode and tonality of works,the diversified application of musical scale combined with multi-tonality composing skills highlighted the rigorous internal logic which manifests the characteristic of tonality layout,while the complicated disposing tactic rendered the works presenting varied appearance except concise and simple style.The third chapter elaborates the construction of the harmony material and the use of a variety of chord structures can produce different forms of harmony.Through the use of non-three overlapping chords,parallel chords,pandiatonicism and other harmony material,the composer can seek the new breakthrough of harmony and sound effects by maintaining and combining the traditional and modern harmony techniques.Through generalizing the works,the fourth chapter draws on the sublimation of the two aspects of tone and harmony and summarizes the holistic characteristics of the harmony technique,which providing the corresponding theoretical basis for further analysis of the works of Milhaud.The third part of it is conclusion,it firstly makes conclusions from the angle of views of the historical position of the musician and his works,the connection and influence before and after it,relates and analyzes the harmonic creation concept the musician uses.Secondly,around multi tonality this key field of technology closely,by using highly condensed language we summarized the concord skills applied in works,and then sublimate the creative idea implemented by composer once again.At last it sets forth the inspiration and suggestion to the creation of the folk music of our country which is brought by analysis of this piece of work.Doing research of the works of western music can make us keep in touch with the international music market,enrich and bring theoretical basis and technical support to the marching and development of the folk music culture of our country.
