Wang Bi(??)is a well-known metaphysician in Wei-jin dynasties,although he said little about the art and beauty,had a few originality aesthetics.But he is the rare thinker,who own primary thought in Chinese history.And he stood on the node of historical development,so if we do not find out his thought,it will lead philosophy,aesthetics to fault,cannot find out the literary activities'command analysis.Besides,the controversy about the relation of word(?)and meaning(?)has always permeated the whole of the Wei-jin literary theory,through the development process of philosophy,aesthetics and literature,and just in this period,Wang Bi put forward a point of"Catching meaning while forgetting image,catching image while forgetting word",this distinctive theory showed the aesthetic essence of the unity of the subject and the subject.The reality,the limited and the infinite,so that the transformation of the metaphysical thought to the aesthetic conception was opened,and the aesthetic activities such as the metaphysical spirit of the Wei-jin dynasties,the literary theory of later generations and the artistic practice were irreplaceable.It provided a unique aesthetic paradigm for the construction of Chinese aesthetics.Therefore,if ignoring his"Catching meaning while forgetting image",the literary theory in Wei-jin can not be grasped as a whole,can not smooth the whole development process of Chinese aesthetics.So,This paper tries to base on the occurrence context of the Wang Bi"Catching meaning while forgetting image",the comprehensive elements of the Wei-jin dynasties,and the aesthetic essence,aesthetic pursuit and aesthetic effect,and in-depth analysis of his esthetic thought of its meaning.This paper is divided into four parts:The first chapter aims at talking about Wang Bi's view in the whole context,the system comb the origin of relation of word and meaning.From the perspective of the Xianqin dynasty,the paper examines the internal quality relationship with relation of word and meaning of Xianqin period,and bases on the Wei-jin Environment,which carries on from far and near,from Universal to special investigation.Starting from the ideological premise of the Xianqin period,gradually moving toward the theory of the Wei-jin dynasties,and finding out the thought of " Catching meaning while forgetting image " in the connotation of the meaning of the idea.The second chapter analyzes the aesthetic essence of Wang Bi' s theory,and lives in the special environment of the Wei-jin Dynasties,and Wang Bi inevitably is influenced by the algae of human goods,so the discussion of the relationship between word and meaning will inevitably be judged and aesthetically colored.From the aesthetic point of view,the aesthetic essence of " Catching meaning while forgetting image " is the aesthetic paradigm of combining the subject and the subject,the actual phase,the limited and the infinite.Therefore,this chapter excavates the deep aesthetic connotation of "words"(?),"image"(?),"meaning"(?),reveals the aesthetic essence of " Catching meaning while forgetting image ".The third chapter focuses on the aesthetic pursuit of Wang Bi' s theory,from the perspective of aesthetics,and the idea of " Catching meaning while forgetting image " emphasizes the exploration of infinite and far-reaching beauty.He developed Zhuangzi's theory of "Heaven and earth have great beauty and not say" to "big beauty with heaven and do not do",thinking that everything should conform to nature,and so do the word,the pursuit of the restoration "meaning" of the true,advocating the aesthetic realm of nature.The emphasis on subjective emotion and the esteem of independent personality inspired his aesthetic pursuit of personality aesthetics.And his "forgetting"(?)is proposed to the external form of transcendence,so that the "words","image" and "meaning" between the distance,reflecting the beauty of transcendence,Wang Bi's theory of " Catching meaning while forgetting image " is a very distinctive aesthetic pursuit of the meaning.The fourth chapter discusses the aesthetic effect of Wang Bi's view,the proposal obtains a short conclusion to the practical sense,the dialectical elucidation of the aesthetic essence of "word "," image "," meaning ",deepens the understanding of the ontology of beauty.For the time and later generations to provide a set of unspeakable aesthetic theory system,so that people found the most suitable point of conjunction,for the main aesthetic perception of the presentation of possible.At the same time,this theory help scholars to shake off the secular,imitating nature provides an unspeakable theoretical support,for the effective communication between people and the potential for the day.In theory also spawned the Wei-jin scholars ' expression anxiety,affecting the development of art practice such as landscape paintings and landscape poems.
