Although a lot of existing studies about job stress,subjective well-being and job satisfaction have made a great of performance.But there are not too many studies on character strengths,which may be due to that the emerging time of Positive Psychology is relatively late.The present researches on character strengths have also made a certain new findings.These previous studies only focused on the relationships between two or three variables of these four variables,and didn't focus on these four variables in one same study,and didn't pay attention to the moderation variable role of character strengths in the relationships of these three variables.For working people,job stress and subjective well-being is very close to their physical and mental health.And job satisfaction has direct affect on subjective well-being.At meanwhile,different personalities make different feeling of the same job stress.Character strengths belong to the personalities.So character strengths can lead to the different feeling of the same job stress.It deserves our energy and attention to study these four variables in one study.Otherwise,most previous studies chosen the teachers,public servants or college students etc.,as their subjects.There are no many studies to date which explore the relationship of these four variables among the employees of manufacturing enterprise.So we can not provide the executives of the manufacturing enterprises the scientific and reasonable evidence for making the measures to improve the employees mental health.In order to make up for the deficiency of existing researches,this study focused on the job stress,subjective well-being,job satisfaction and character strengths at meanwhile,and study the character strengths moderation role in the affect of job stress on subjective well-being,and how the moderation effect happened.This study chosen working employees from one of manufacturing enterprises as subjects,in order to meet the needs of the executives of manufacturing enterprises.These subjects are examined by measuring questionnaires of job stress,character strengths,job satisfaction and subjective well-being.The relationships among job stress,character strengths,job satisfaction and subjective well-being are figured out by analyzing these obtained data.And it is found out the moderation mechanism of character strengths in the relationship of job stress,job satisfaction and subjective well-being by analyzing the simple slope.The study said improving the level of employees character strengths by training would advance the level of employees subjective well-being.This study used cluster sampling method,and chosen 500 employees as subjects from one manufacturing enterprise which primary products are auto accessories located in Suzhou,in Jiangsu province.Job stress questionnaire used in this study is the revised questionnaire from domestic Shuangshuang Liu and Dawei Wang;character strengths questionnaire is the revised questionnaire from our famous domestic researcher Wenjie Duan(Values in Action Inventory of Strength;job satisfaction questinnaire is Minnesota Minnesota satisfaction MSQ;subjective well-being questionnaire is the revised one from domestic researcher Jianhua Duan.The primary conclusions are as the following:1 The level of job stress,character strengths,job satisfaction and subjective well-being of the manufacturing enterprise employees are higher than the median value,and there are significant differences in some demographic variables.2 There was a significant negative correlation between job stress and job satisfaction,and job stress and subjective well-being.3 There was a significant negative correlation between character strengths and job stress,but character strengths was positively correlated with job satisfaction and subjective well-being.4 The job stress and job satisfaction were positively correlated to the employees with higher level of character strengths.the job satisfaction was negatively correlated to job satisfaction to the employees with lower level of character strengths.5 The job stress can positively predict subjective well-being,but also indirectly positively predict subjective well-being through job satisfaction,in which character strengths play a moderate role,and this role is completely happened through the mediating variables of job satisfaction.
