"lian......ye/dou......"construction representing a special kind of sentence construction in modem Chinese,is a key sentence construction in Teaching Chinese as a second Language(TCSL).Research of the foreign students whose first language is English acquisition of "lian......ye/dou......"construction has attracted the attention of scholars,while it is a blank to fill in with the research of "lian......ye/dou......"construction acquisition of students from English-speaking countries.Based on the existing researches of "lian......ye/dou......"construction in the field of Chinese Language and data investigation on the native-language corpus,four sub-constructions are defined according to its syntactic and semantic features and use frequency.This thesis has focused on a contrastive study on the mutual translation of "lian......ye/dou......"construction and emphatic structures between English and Chinese with the help of two ? way Parallel Chinese ? English corpus.The correspondence of the"lian......ye/dou....."construction and emphatic structures in English language is obtained and sentences of "lian......ye/dou......"construction leaning difficulty level are predicted:the difficulty level of sentence 1 is one-level;the difficulty levels of sentence 3 and sentence 4 are both three-level(sentence 3 is more difficult than sentence 4);the difficulty level of sentence 2 is four-level.The thesis compares the frequency of the"lian......ye/dou......"construction with native speakers to figure out the differences and to make sure whether an avoiding tendency exists or not.A systematical research on the use of this sentence construction is conducted in the inter-language corpus,combining with the result of a test to survey the forms of "lian......ye/dou......"construction:to analyze the correct use of "lian.....ye/dou......"construction by foreign students whose first language are English to find out the longitudinal development features of"lian......ye/dou......"construction acquisition;to analyze the erroneous use and investigate the causes from different kinds of aspects;the thesis finds out that the omission(52.4%,55.9%)takes the largest proportion,wrong order(26.2%,23.5%);and the mistakenly(11.9%,11.8%)are in descending order;and redundancy(9.5%,8.8%)takes the least proportion;and finally the acquisition sequence of the"lian......ye/dou......"construction is obtained via applying the methods of Correction Frequency and Proficiency of Intervals,which is combined with the former analysis.The acquisition sequence is sentence 1>sentence 4>sentence 3>sentence 2.In the end,combining with the result of the error analysis,the acquisition characteristics and the acquisition sequence of the"lian......ye/dou......"construction,some suggestions on selecting and sequencing the "lian......ye/dou......"construction in main syllabus and textbooks are given.
