Multi-angle Study Of The Sentence "S+V 1 +O 1 +O 2 +V 2 "

The sentence structure "S+V1+O1+O2+V2" is one of the special structures in modern Chinese sentence system. From the formal point of view, this structure includes not only two objects, but also a pivot. However the academia hasn’t paid enough attention to the nature of this structure, and hasn’t achieved an agreement on the amount of the pivot. On the basis of previous studies, this paper tries to seek the intrinsic characteristics of the sentence structure "S+V1+O1+O2+V2" from the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic levels of this structure. This paper includes the following four parts except the preface and the conclusion.The first part is the nature and features of "S+V1+O1+O2+V2". This sentence structure "S+V1+O1+O2+V2" is the structure of far-object followed by the predicate to express certain purpose or intention. The predicate and one object of the Double-object construction,"O1" or "O2",form subject-predicate relationship. The pivot just comes from this progress. So we call this sentence structure "Double objects-pivot sentence". Double objects-pivot sentence is often used to stress the purpose of the action that the subject has carried out.The second part is syntactic analysis of the structure "S+V1+O1+O2+V2". Firstly,we analyze the syntactic components and the structural relationship. Then we try to analyze the sentence construction structure of Double objects-pivot sentence with the method of hierarchical analysis. We find that the Double objects-pivot sentence mainly involves three levels of hierarchy relationship. The first level is Verb-object and Subject-predicate relationship. The second is Bi-constitution relationship, and the third is Subject-Predicate relationship.The third part is the semantic analysis of Double objects-pivot sentence. This paper mainly analyzes the semantic features of "V1”. "V1" is mostly "V+给" verbs,and a few laying verbs. The semantic relationship of Double objects-pivot sentence embody mainly between "V1","V2" and the two objects, based on which we analyzes the semantic relationship of these two kinds of Double objects-pivot sentence. Then,we try to find synonymous sentences of the "S+V1+O1+O2+V2" structure with transformation analysis and seek the way and limitations of synonymous transformation analysis.The last part is the information structure and pragmatic values of the sentence structure "S+V1+O1+O2+V2". According to the theory of information-transmitting grammar, we extract the information structure and different levels of Double objects-pivot sentence with the help of a series of question- answer chain. Then we analyze the progress of information encoding and decoding in Double objects-pivot sentence from the perspective of the speakers and listeners. After that we try to look for information focus and pragmatic focus of "S+V1+O1+O2+V2". Double objects-pivot sentence can express relatively more information with less language symbol. That’s why Double objects-pivot sentence can be widely used in our oral communication.
