The subjective social class is the position of the individual in the society when compared with others. In order to clarify the relationship between subjective social class and prosocial behavior, three experiments were carried out. In experiment 1, 108 participants were collected from a website, then they were measured social class and relationship orientation. In experiment 2, 143 participants were randomly assigned to conditions in which they were primed with low or high feelings of subjective social class, then they were measured the altruistic behavior by the dictator game in the different conditions of short and far social distance. In experiment 3, 117 participants were primed with low or high feelings of subjective social class, then the altruistic behavior and the sense of control were measured to test the moderate model. According to the three experiments, results are:(1 )The participants with high subjective social class exhibited higher scores on the communal relationship orientation scale than those with lower subjective social class.(2)The high subjective social class showed more altruistic behavior than the low class. People showed more altruism to short social distance than far social distance.(3)There was no significant difference in altruistic behavior to short social distance between high and low subjective class, but the high subjective class showed more altruism to the far social distance than the low subjective class.(4)The high subjective social class showed more altruistic behavior than the low class, but there was no significant difference between the two groups in the control level. It was concluded as follows:(1)People with high subjective social class would be more communal in relationship.(2)People with high subjective social class would be more altruistic.(3)People showed more altruism to short social distance than far social distance.(4)The social distance mediated the relationship between social class and prosocial behavior.
