From A Cross-cultural Perspective, Ricci's Contribution To Sino-Italian Cultural Exchanges

Matteo Ricci was the first Westerner to be able to establish a cultural exchange with China.As a Jesuit,his primary mission was evangelical,but as a man of great strategic skills,once he arrived in Cina Matteo Ricci changed the strategies identified by his superiors and,according to China's domestic situation,developed a new strategy.This thesis focuses on the contribution made by Matteo Ricci in the cultural exchange between Italy and China,analyzing the secrets and the main causes of success obtained by Matteo Ricci in China,and also seeks to identify the person who may be called the cultural heir of Matteo Ricci,Giulio Aleni.
