“XingShiYinYuanZhuan” is a great work of novels about human relationship after “the Golden Lotus” at great length for a hundred chapters.Under the clue of the marriage between two generations,it describes a group of characterized shrew and tells a story about a family marriage which is all in confusion.Through the statement of the SuJie who is representative of the shrew group,the author express his gaze at the current family marriage and social reality and hope to attract people's attention on the social issues behind the family ethics system.Further more,he wants to explain his emphasis on moral character cultivation,self-examination on marriage,correction on family order and the aspiration of Honest Society.The paper takes the study of the shrew in XingShiYinYuanZhuan mainly from four aspects.The first chapter is the prerequisite and foreshadowing to analyze the features of shrew in the “XingShiYinYuanZhuan”.The ‘shrew' is tried to be defined by comparison and provide a benchmark for object of this study.After the new definition of ‘shrew',there is the possibility to make a comprehensive survey on Chinese ancient literature works and arrange the feature of ‘shrew' before “XingShiYinYuanZhuan”.After analysis and summary of its important point which means a foreshadowing for later study,it is convenient to find out the unique of the characteristic of shrew in “XingShiYinYuanZhuan”.The second chapter analyzes five typical and representative shrews and put emphasis on the different point with the others,especially SuJie who does not only own unique character but also general character to get together with other shrews,which is the heart of this chapter.The third chapter is the core point of this article which tries to analyze the cause of shrew from three aspects which are family inside,family outside and female psychology.This chapter will spare no effort to dissect female psychology to find the root that they fear and depressed and figure out the influence of marriage system and family and social environment.The fourth chapter will be based at the figure and cause of shrew to comprehend the creative psychology of Xi Zhousheng and explore his emphasis on moral cultivation for male,self-examination for marriage,family issues and the pursuit of honest social atmosphere which can feel his sense of social duty to give and help.
