Now The New HSK have got much attention in the world,the number of participants to take part in the examination is increasing and The New HSK level 5accounted for the largest proportion,so the research about The New HSK level 5 test is of great significance.The New HSK follow the "combination of teaching and education" principle,the purpose is "test to teach,test to learn." Under the guidance of this principle,the paper chooses 27 The New HSK level 5 reading comprehension section tests from different aspects to research,finds out the key points and difficulties of reading comprehension section tests,and provides relevant strategies for improving students' reading ability and examination skills.Further more,through questionnaires which analyse student problems in reading,the paper aims to guide the teaching of reading and make it more targeted.The New HSK level 5 reading comprehension section's analysis is made up of three parts: First,the themes and options analysis from the cloze test part;Second,the themes,structures and options analysis from the utterance understanding part;Third,the themes and reading ability analysis from the passage reading part.From the analysis,the paper get three conclusions: First,different type of The New HSK level 5reading comprehension section have different characteristics;Second,different type of reading comprehension section test have different reading ability;Third,different methods to solve different questions.The questionnaire analyzes the basic information of students,the situation of students' reading and the method of reading comprehension,through the analysis,the paper points out two problems: First,the students pay less attention to reading,their reading speed is slow,the number and type of reading is not enough.Second,the courses offered by the school to the intermediate reading teaching need to be improved,they lack relevant courses which can develop students' fast reading ability.Based on the conclusions of the previous analysis and the problems found in the questionnaire,the paper made several suggestions from these three aspects: to improve reading ability which can assist students to pass The New HSK level 5,the development of Chinese reading teaching to foreign students and the preparation of a better New HSK level 5 reading counseling book.
