Dancology has started in colleges and universities in China for only ten years or so,factually later started than other art disciplines.In recent years,to cultivate interdisciplinary talents in line with the development of socialization,an increasing number of colleges and universities have started the professional direction of dancology and dance performance.Therefore,professional curriculum in those schools tends to follow the traditional teaching mode,attaching emphasis to dance performance(technical training).According to the undergraduate directory of the Ministry of Education,dancology is to cultivate specialized personnel who are capable of Chinese and foreign dance history,dance theory research,dance teaching and editing.It is set up to cultivate high-level dance talents and interdisciplinary personnel who will be engaged in the teaching,creation and tutoring of Chinese classical dance,folk dance and ballet in schools,art groups,cultural palace,youth palace and other art organizations.According to the definition of dance performance,its purpose is to cultivate applied talents with related knowledge and ability,so that they can perform in specialized performing groups,cultural palace and teach in middle and primary schoolAccording to the national standards of teaching quality in music and dance majors in general institutes of higher education(dancology,dance performance draft),it is confirmed that dancology is artistic and professional,needing early professional training as the prerequisite and higher-level education as the development of the discipline.The core to talents cultivation lies in three “transfers”: transfer from basic training to the integration of skills and art;transfer from imitation to creative art practice;and transfer from single discipline to all-round development.It is also mentioned that to equip undergraduates with ample knowledge to engage in dance-related social art work,or to pursue higher education,it is necessary to integrate professional training into aesthetics cultivation,class teaching into art practice,and art education into the education of men,which guide the future development of dancology.In light of the regulations of major setup in higher education,dancology and dance performance are to cultivate high-level talents,but they are few and far-between.Therefore,dancology needs urgent construction and renovation.This thesis is based on the tutorial “Chinese Classical Dance Teaching Method Tutorial”(hereinafter referred to as tutorial)used in the dance institute of Sichuan Conservatory of Music.The first part introduces the status quo in the teaching of dancology and dance performance;the second part analyzes the tutorial from the macro level to micro level;the third part analyzes the specific contents in the turorial and the last part is illustrated with materials from case study.This thesis tries to point out that the renovation of dancology and dance performance should lie in the elimination of those factors that are not in line with the overall development of higher education,like the disintegrated courses that results in the lack of teaching practice and tutoring,causing the gap between theoretical knowledge and social practice.This course,Chinese Classical Dance Teaching Method Tutorial is in itself a renovation of this subject.With thorough research and collection of factual teaching effectiveness,this thesis calls attention to the promotion of dancology and dance performance.
