Fang Hui Du Poetry Study

People in the Song Dynasty collectively kept an eye on Du Fu when they were in the process of conducting unique style and features about poetry.The poetry by Du Fu was unprecedentedly admired in the Song dynasty.In addition to the minority poets,the whole Song Dynasty's poetic development cannot leave the acceptance and study of Du Fu.Fang Hui as a poet and critic,he was both a witness about poetic circle's extinction and a leader in poetic circle of the early Yuan Dynasty.Studying and interpreting Du Fu run through Fang Hui's whole life and his study about Du Fu is based on acceptance and criticism of Du Fu's poems by the Song Dynasty's people.There were inheritance,development and innovation and formed a relatively systematic understanding.It is not only the focus of Fang Hui's study,but also the key topic in the history of Du Fu's poetry.Predecessors' research and poetic theory about Fang Hui and mainly taken his extant works as the breakthrough point.By combing the predecessors' and sages' research resulted from Fang Hui and his works,academics had made more efforts in this field,especially the study for Ying Kui Lv Sui,having a more in-depth and detailed discussion on the version,content and poetic theories.But in this research field still has some problems,on the one hand,ignoring the impact of the system evaluation of Song Dynasty's poets about Du Fu to Fang Hui's judgement about Du Fu,unilateral interpreting Fang Hui's view of “Yi Zu San Zong” and highly regarding for the poetic group of Jiang Xi.On the other hand,the research of Fang Hui's poetic view about Du Fu is incomplete and some views have signs of imitation,aiming at examining the specific environment of Fang Hui's poetic theories and the influence to himself.This article back to his works Tong Jiang Set,Tong Jiang Sequel and Ying Kui Lv Sui,which be divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the influence of Du Fu's poems of the Song Dynasty and acceptant overview.By combing the evaluation and learning situation of Du Fu that conducted by poets and poetic groups of Song Dynasty,understanding the forming process of Du Fu's lofty status and the acceptance of Du Fu in the Song Dynasty.The second chapter is the influence of Fang Hui's poetic view about Du Fu which formed by Du Fu.It involves Fang Hui's request for the rhythm and forceful horizontal momentum of poetry,admiring the ancient thoughts and ethic and Fang Hui's learning path about absorbing the essence from others,through reading to strengthen the emphasis on their own cultivation,understanding dialectical relationship between reading and poetry creation,his ideal theory of poetry creation and abandon to the worldliness.The third chapter is the exploration of Fang Hui's poetic view about Du Fu.This is the more detailed discussion of the content.It involves Du Fu's thoughts and feelings,the artistic techniques of Du Fu and his innovation and change.Especially for Du Fu's poetry creative techniques,Fang Hui carried out a more detailed presentation and summary and compiled a large selection of Tang and Song poems named Ying Kui Lv Sui.The poetical theory,which has always been advocated,is displayed by way of commenting on the poetic,syntactic,antithesis and arrangement of specific poems,providing a practical path of poetry for later poets.The comments made by Fang Hui on Du Fu's poems and the relevant exposition of Tong Jiang Set,Tong Jiang Sequel complement with each other,which can made a comprehensive study of the essence of Fang Hui's poetic view about Du Fu.The last chapter is the significance of the research of Fang Hui's poetic view about Du Fu.The inheritance and transcendence of Fang Hui's poetic view about Du Fu to the Song poets is pushing Du Fu to the most noble position in the poetic history which from the thought and art.It provided theoretic bedding that Du Fu was called "Shi Sheng" in the future.As the poet and critic of the Song and Yuan Dynasties,Fang Hui's poetic view to a large extent affected the Yuan Dynasty's poetic orientation,and played an important role in the construction of Du Fu's poetics in Yuan Dynasty.After the Song and Yuan Dynasties,Du Fu's study was still enduring during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Some classic annotated edition of Du Fu's poems appeared in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,from which can be seen the future critic's understanding about Du Fu tended to be more comprehensive and in-depth.It also showed that Fang Hui's research and evaluation of Du Fu had important and far reaching influence on later poets.As both the poet and the critic of the dual identity of Fang Hui,On the one hand,his study of Du Fu based on the previous summary and made further improvement,on the other hand,formed his own unique experience and understanding in the process of learning.Du Fu's influence on Fang Hui is comprehensive and lasting,so from his poetic view we can see Du Fu's influence almost everywhere.The influence and his summary development path and inspiration of poetry were contributed to the formation of his poetic view.The study of his Du Fu's view can sort out the situation of Du Fu's acceptance before him.What is more important is that through the formation and the connotation of Fang Hui's poetic view about Du Fu,can form a more clear understanding about the development road of poetry in the Song and Yuan Dynasties.This paper tries to discuss the different aspects of Fang Hui's poetics research about Du Fu in a more comprehensive and detailed way,and put it in the Tang and Song poetry transformation and the development of Du Fu's poetry development history,hoping have a further study based on the previous study.
