Investigation And Study On The Language Use Status Of The Baoan People In The Jishishan Area Of ??Gansu Province

The investigation of minority languages in northwest region is particularly necessary after the party and country put forward the strategic thought of "The Belt and Road".Ethnic groups in Gansu Baoan Dongxiang Salar Autonomous County is complex and their language environment and use conditions are special.The language use situation of Baoan is an important part of them,It must be studied by scientific methods.At the same time,the survey of Baoan is good for strengthening the cultural exchanges and ethnic fusion,promoting harmonious and healthy development of ethnic relations.It can help us understand the current status of language education in multilingual area.It also provides some references and help for future improvement of national minority language policies.In order to accurately grasp the language use situation of Baoan in Jishishan area,we have done a lot of questionnaires and interviews.We reveal the language use situations of Baoan adults and students in Jishishan area from the aspects of language usage,language competence and language attitude by using the statistical software SPSS and excel charts.We also use the method of social linguistics analysis to discuss respectively cause factors including gender,age,occupation,level of education and places of residence and so on.Finally we get some conclusions and put forward some suggestions and countermeasures.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which illuminates the research topic,the origins,the current situations of domestic and foreign research,the significance and method of this research.The second chapter introduces the description of language investigation,It also reveals the current language use situations of Baoan people in Jishishan area from the aspects of family and community.The third chapter shows the language competence of Baoan people in this area from the aspects of oral and written expressions.In the fourth chapter,from the perspectives of language cognition,language emotion and language behavior tendency,the author explains the language attitudes of Baoan people in Jishishan area.The fifth chapter discusses the factors that affect the language use situations of Baoan people in this area,which can be divided into two aspects:natural factors and social factors.Among them,the social factors include gender,age,occupation,level of education and places of residence and so on.The last chapter is the conclusion.We put forward all conclusions and some thoughts in the future study.The language environment of Jishishan area is complicated.There are some different nationalities living in this area,including Baoan,Salar,Dongxiang and Han.Each nation has its own language.All these languages constitute a large language environment in which the Baoan language is used.In this area,there are significant differences between the two generations of Baoan people in the use of language.The older generation has a higher level of Baoan language than the younger.They use the Baoan language more often both in their families and communities.The level of Baoan language of the younger generation has dropped significantly.But they have a higher level of mandarin than the older generation.These situations reflect that the use of bilingual language in this area is changing from using the Baoan language mainly to using mandarin mainly,even using mandarin only.There are differences in language use of Baoan people between urban and rural areas in Jishishan area.The Baoan people who live in urban area use mandarin more often than Baoan language,while the people living in rural area are on the contrary.The places of residence have influence on the language ability and language attitude of Baoan people.At the same time,we should notice that the language use of Baoan people in this area is the result of variety factors.Natural environment,traffic conditions,gender,occupation,level of education and other factors also play a role.According to the language use of Baoan people in Jishishan area,we put forward that we must pay more attention to the young generation mother tongue education from the aspects of family,school,society and so on.Baoan language is unique to this nation.It is the bond of emotion and needs a good inheritance and development.Although the Baoan adults are very high on the national language in emotion and the degree of identity,they think that learning Chinese can be more conducive to the next generation of education,employment and development.In the face of the strong language of Chinese,the Baoan language shows weakness in the bilingual use.This situation should arouse the attention of the relevant departments.Then,they will pay more attention to the young generation mother tongue education.The young generation should learn common language,at the same time they should not forget to inherit the national language.
