The Study Of Zhendexiu's Literary Thoughts

Zhen Dexiu was a famous master of neo-Confucianism of the Southern Song Dynasty,and also an important writer.Although he did not made a monograph on literary criticism like Wen Xin Diao Long,,yet in his Wen Zheng Zeng Zong,prose,poetry and other works he also put forward a series of important viewpo:ints on the nature of literature,literary function value,style,literature criticism standards and other theories by combing his own creative experience and understandings,which forms a relatively complete criticism system of literature theory and is of great value.Zhen Dexiu sees the literature based on the neo-Confucianism standard,which exists a certain partiality.However,there is no denying that Zhen Dexiu's collection of prose and anthology Wen Zhang Zheng Zong has a unique value,and has an important influence on the later generations.The full text is divided into five parts:The introduction introduces Zhen Dexiu's life,the research status and the innovation of this thesis.Firstly,Zhen Dexiuhe's life experience,academic activities and major works are briefly introduced according to the record of related literature;Secondly,summaries of the current research situation of Zhen Dexiu' s literature thought are made diachronically ranging from the Southern Song Dynasty,the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the seventies and eighties,as well as the present research situation,and synchronically including literature,literary style,version and other research situations;Finally,the unique description and the desired effect of this thesis are presented.The first chapter discusses Zhen Dexiu' s view of literature ontology.Firstly,the thesis discusses Zhen Dexiu's views of the relationship between "wen" and "dao",and explains his innovation and deficiencies based on the theories of the master of science Zhu Xi and contemporary Wei Liaoweng;Secondly,the interpretations on Zhen Dexiu's "Wenqi" is made based on the theories of "Qi" held by Mencius,Wang Chong and Cao Pi.He suggests that "zhiwen" matters a lot to "Yuanqi",and "Qi" is innate and can be obtained by inner cultivation;Finally,it discusses Zhen Dexiu's interpretation of"Character and Sentiment" by combining Zhang Zai and Zhu Xi's view of "Mind Dominated Character and Sentiment".The second chapter discusses the literature function and value of Zhen Dexiu.First,the thesis discusses Zhen Dexiu's understanding of literary function—supplement to the teaching,benefit to the world—in accordance with his Neo-Confucianism thoughts and literature ideas;second,this thesis makes an analysis of the educational function of the literature towards people—to persuade the evil to the good—on the basis of a series of political documents issued by Zhen Dexiu during his term in office and the value orientation of Neo-Confucianism itself.The third chapter discusses the Wen Zhang Zheng Zong and Zhen Dexiu's literature creation and criticism.It takes the selected works—Wen Zhang Zheng Zong in his anthologies as an example and interprets Zhen Dexiu' s theory about literature creation and criticism depending on the combination of Zhen Dexiu's prose and poetry creation.Firstly,it discusses the ideas of selecting Wen Zhang Zheng Zong by analyzing its purpose,style,content and so on;Secondly,the unique feature of Wen Zhang Zheng Zong lies in the classification of the "Si Mu" and the criticism.Thus,Zhen Dexiu's literature ideas can be reflected thoroughly by the analysis of ways of classification and criticism.The fourth chapter are about the summaries of Zhen Dexiu' s literature thought including its characteristics,status and influence.Firstly,Zhen Dexiu's thought belongs to neo-Confucianism which emphasizes "Li" rather than "Wen",which is the result of the co-operation of the internal and external factors.Secondly,Zhen Dexiu' s literature contribution has been ignored due to the fact that he is a neo-Confucian.His reputation of literature status is increasing gradually until near thirty years.Zhen Dexiu' s literature contribution not only seen in the anthology,but also mainly reflected in the collection of the Wen Zhang Zheng Zong,which discusses the important influence on the later literature.
