Research On The Category And Strategy Of Chinese Culture Teaching In College Foreign Language Teaching

With the continuous advancement of "the Belt and Road Initiatives" in China,the transmission of Chinese Culture has become the focus of foreign language teaching and meanwhile the study of Chinese Culture has emerged.Since the study of Chinese Culture in foreign language teaching has just started,there are no effective methods or theories formed.To explore the feasible Chinese Culture teaching strategies and the range of Chinese Culture which is suitable for Chinese students in foreign language teaching,the author conducted a test,which included 4 typical aspects of Chinese Culture:philosophy,literature,traditional folk customs and scenery,for foreign language teachers and students' capacity in expressing Chinese Culture terms in foreign language.At the same time,the author found out that both the foreign language teachers and students know little about the connotation of Chinese Culture and are incapable of expressing Chinese Culture terms in foreign language.It was concluded that there are two main reasons for the low capability of Chinese Cultural expression:both teachers and students know little about Chinese Culture terms;they know little about how to express Chinese Culture properly.In view of these two major issues,the author attempted to lift the teachers and students' cultural expression proficiency by means of enhancing teachers' Chinese Cultural Awareness,composing suitable cultural books,modifying the curriculum,holding culture lectures and adding some activities concerning Chinese Culture in foreign language corner and the like.The author hopes that the study of teaching strategies and categories of Chinese Culture can play a role in teaching Chinese Culture terms in foreign language teaching.
