The premise of this thesis is to clarify the difference between BFA(Bachelor of Fine Arts)dance program and BA(Bachelor of Arts)dance program in American dance higher education.BFA in dance is conservatory dance training program,with the aim of "Education for dance "as its mission,and training of professional dance artist as its teaching goal,defined as American professional dance higher education in this article.Specifically,This research project focuses on analyzing the curriculum construction of BFA Dance program in Tisch School of the Art in New York University.The research combines my learning experiences at Beijing Dance Academy and Tisch Dance of New York University,and through comparing characteristics of these two professional dance education systems in China and America.To summarize and leverage the merits of curricula design in American professional dance education,I propose some ideas and possibilities to improve the current dance curricula construction. |
