With the development of positive psychology, the study of well-being and its intrinsic mechanism has become a hot topic in the field of psychology.Lyubomirsky and others put forward a sustainable well-being model in the exploration of the influencing factors of subjective well-being.It is believed that a person's well-being level is restricted by three main factors: the baseline of well-being determined by genes, the environmental factors associated with well-being,and intentional activities related to well-being.A growing number of studies have focused on the effects of "intentional activities" related to well-being.One variable, which is closely related to "intention activity",is selected to explore its influence on well-being.The internal mechanism between them were explored, guided by Self-determination Theory(SDT).Furthermore, the intermediary effect of basic psychological needs satisfaction between goal pursuit and subjective well-being was discussed. This paper chose junior high school students as the research object and took the Self-determination Theory as the frame system to study the relationship between the life goal pursuit and subjective well-being of junior high school students. The research included two studies: Study one,Aspiration index-35 scales were used to measure students' life goal pursuit,Basic Psychological Needs Scales were used to measure their basic psychological needs satisfaction.Life satisfaction scale and positive/negative emotion scale were used to investigate 710 students in five middle schools in Shanghai, and 686 valid questionnaires were obtained.Using Person correlation analysis and structural equation model,we explored the relationships among different types of life goal pursuit, basic psychological needs satisfaction and subjective well-being of junior high school students.Study two,on the basis of the results obtained from study one, junior high school students whose scores of external and internal life goals subtraction were significantly higher than the average were selected as the subjects and pretest were taken.Divided into intervention group and control group, interventions were given to the intervention group, then both of the two groups did post-test,data differences were analyzed. The main results were as follows:Firstly, overall,Shanghai junior high school students subjective well-being were in the upper middle level, the satisfaction of basic psychological needs were also in the upper middle level, students care more about the pursuit of internal life goals.Secondly, there were no significant gender differences in junior high school students' subjective well-being.There were significant differences in grade and family economic status.Thirdly, the satisfaction of basic psychological needs played an intermediary role in different types of life goal pursuit on subjective well-being.Fourthly,Group-assisted intervention could significantly improve the subjective well-being of junior high school students. This study verified the effect of life goal pursuit and basic psychological needs satisfaction on subjective well-being in junior high school students, confirmed the theory of self-determination,designed the group guided intervention and improved the subjective well-being of junior high school students.
