The Root Cause Of Japanese Political Right Degeneration

In recent years,Japan's political and social right-wing groups are becoming unprecedentedly stronger,this trend has become more obvious and serve since Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was installed in his office.There is a huge difference between China and Japan on issues of visiting to the Yasukuni Shrine,beautifying the history of aggression,disputed territory,modifying the Japan constitution,and Sino-Japanese relations also backed to a freezing point with constant incidents.So,did Prime Minister Abe's individually dominate the right-deviating tendency? Or should the ruling alliance of Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito to which Shinzo Abe belongs be mainly responsible for this? The author performed a deduction and found that these two subjects can not be fully responsible for the fact of overall right deviation of the whole Japanese political circle,but after analysis the author found that there is a close correlation between the Sino-Japanese shrinking power gap or slight lateral power dominance of China and social right deviation and between the dominance of gradually rampant right-wing forces in Japanese political circle and social right deviation.There is a causal link between the two reasons.Sino-Japanese shrinking power gap is a decisive factor for the political right deviation of Japan,while individual factors,political party factors also play a supporting role for the political right deviation of Japan,Japanese people's perception plays an intermediary conduction role for such deviation.In the foreseeable future,with increasing lateral dominance of China's comprehensive powers including economic strength and military strength over Japan,Japan's political right deviation phenomenon will be more serious,the Sino-Japanese conflict will be further intensified.In this paper,from a perspective of realism theory and reality,based on a main analysis period from end of the cold war to second term of Shinzo Abe,an analysis was made on the development,characteristics,performance and leading causes of the political right deviation in Japan.The paper can be divided into four chapters: The first chapter gives a general description of the studies on the right deviation of Japan in academia,mainly focusing on the serving terms of Abe.Political right deviation of Japan,a political tendency and political thought,began in 1980 s and gradually developed and grew,and then reached a climax in serving terms of Junichiro Koizumi and Shinzo Abe.The main manifestations were proposal to amend the Japan constitution,beautifying the history of aggression,supporting and leading the Japanese Administration to visit to the Yasukuni Shrine,sovereignty dispute for Diaoyu Islands,characterized by right-wing dominance,progressive strengthening,diverse forms and pragmatism.The second chapter explores the roles and functions played by the Prime Minister and the ruling party alliance in the political right deviation of Japan.Through analysis on Prime Minister's average serving time,bill passing procedures,the shaping of prime minister by intraparty factions and the distinguishment between politicians and technocratic bureaucrats,the limitation in the individual role of the prime minister for right deviation development of Japan was elaborated.Through analysis on changes of ruling party's concepts and public demand for the ruling party,the limitation in the ruling party's role for right deviation development of Japan was elaborated.On this basis,the hypothesis about dominance of Prime Minister and the ruling party in right deviation development of Japan was refuted.The third chapter explores the relationship and intrinsic causal link between the Sino-Japanese shrinking power gap or slight lateral power dominance of China or the shrinking speed and the political right deviation of Japan.Relying on a quantitative analysis,and taking the economic strength and military strength as indicators,the relationship between the political right deviation of Japan and Sino-Japanese shrinking power gap was found to meet a certain law,the higher the degree of political deviation in Japan was,the higher China's power rose,in addition,such power gap between China and Japan was shrinking acceleratedly.Through the perspective of security dilemma and the perception of Japanese people in China,the power gap between China and Japan was found in a changing period,which would directly affect the security dilemma of China and Japan;and with the enhancement on degree of political right deviation in Japan's political circle,this paper believed there was a causal relationship between perception of Japanese people and political right deviation of Japan,that was,perception of Japanese people was under the influence of political right deviation,on the one hand,such perception change of Japanese people would conversely promote the political right deviation.The fourth chapter introduces the author's prediction on the development of political right deviation in Japan and the countermeasures that China should take.It demonstrated an objective reality that political right deviation tendency will continue to grow and be independent of man's will.However,the cyclical fluctuation of the political right deviation climax will be affected by many other factors,so Chinese and Japanese governments can still devote themselves in control of duration,spacing,and intensity of such cyclical fluctuations.
