From the famous Great Charter, the Bill of Rights and the British Constitution,it is clear that the core values of the United Kingdom are "freedom","equality" and "rule of law".It is formed by long years of continuous exploration, practice and accumulation of the British people. It is shaped in the fighting for freedom, pursuit of equality and the practice of the rule of law, through continuous conflicts and compromise. The pursuit of "freedom" by the British mainly includes three aspects: the pursuit for rights, the pursuit for wealth and the pursuit for freedom of consciousness. The pursuit of "equality" by the British has experienced the process from the pursuit of efficiency to the pursuit of equality, then to the coordination of efficiency and equality. The pursuit of the rule of law by the British has gone through the evolvement from custom to customary law, then to common law,and the development from "royal power" to "rule of law".
