The Early Spread Of Socialist Thoughts In Modern China (1871-1910)

The word "Socialism" wasn't from China.It came from Europe,and was introduced into China from Japan indirectly.With studying Socialism thought the early spread in China could help to clarify the historical trace of the incoming Socialism and illuminate the future of the Chinese revolution.Exploring Socialism genre in different periods could help to identify distortion,prejudice and deepening expansion with Chinese characteristics.In this paper,based on historical data,domestic and foreign research results,analyzed the spread of the Socialism thought in China's history from 1871 to 1910.After the second opium war,the westernization movement started Chinese westernization through the introduction of western channel.They thought translation of western books as the first point.For years,they created a number of official and private factories,the establishment of modern schools,hospitals,newspaper,etc,in order to prove in domestic practice of the west,but China's modern industry was still in its embryonic state.The westernization movement could be seen as the window of the socialism in China.At the same time,a few people began to know the Paris commune,the international Labour movement,and Socialism movement,Marx,the existence of the social Democratic Party,but the degree of westernization movement western civilization was limited after all.The end of the 19 th century,the Sino-Japanese war defeat to let the Chinese nation be at stake.Many patriots strived to improve in the awakening,and took part in the reform movement,and played the prelude to the exploration of Socialism."One hundred" reform ended in failure,but the impact would not come to an abrupt end.Reform movement promoted the Chinese to Japan study abroad boom.Chinese students translated and wrote about a lot of Socialism thought to promote the spread of socialism in China.The discussion of Socialism thought was to be low until 1908,because Tianyi newspaper was closed,and Minbao newspaper was closed by Japan authorities.There were mainly four parts in this paper.The first part introduced the background at home and abroad,which Socialism thought was introduced into China.The second part introduced that the Socialism thought was introduced into China by three approaches.The third part analyzed the socialism was communicated by capitalist reformist,bourgeois revolutionaries and the Chinese anarchist.The fourth part summarized the characteristics of communication of the Socialism thought in Modern China.
