Research On TPP Investment Legal System

The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement(TPP),a remarkable agreement in 21 st century,seeks to establish new global trade and investment standards and ultimately to liberalize trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.TPP itself is a complex and multidimensional subject,covering trade,service,finance,investment,intellectual property,e-commerce and other rules and regulations.Thus,this paper chooses the TPP investment legal system for a more systematic study.Investment is undoubtedly an important part of global economic activities,subject to the adjustment of the international investment legal system.China doesn't join in the TPP negotiations,but steadily advances the "Belt & Road" initiative,RCEP,free trade zone,such as a series of construction,so the TPP investment legal system research is of practical significance for China.This paper firstly summarizes TPP and TPP investment legal system,presenting its development process to Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership(CPTPP),its significance of signing and the legal nature.The content of TPP investment legal system is discussed in this paper,including investment treatment,investment protection,investment exemption,investment dispute settlement system,and investment-related expansion topics.Finally,this paper analyses TPP investment legal system,comparison with WTO investment framework and NATFA to demonstrate its contribution to international investment legal system;then proposes some suggestions for China to deal with TPP investment legal system and looks forward to the development and improvement of TPP.
