Poetry is an art of conciseness and the essence of literature. It is more rigorous and purer than any other literature. Poetry teaching is an important part of Chinese teaching and a significant way to realize educating people. However,in the current poetry teaching,it has already fallen into an embarrassing situation. Most students have little passion to learn poetry and always complain about the difficulty and boringness of poetry. Many front-line teachers can do nothing to find a better way to motivate students and guide students in their studies.The key to solve the problem is the combination of the related theories and practice. The purpose of Chinese teaching is to cultivate students' pragmatic competence and make the practice of speech skills pointedly while the speech is the content of pragmatics studies and Chinese teaching should be closer with pragmatics. Educator Yu Yi once said,”if you want to teach effectively,it can't work just with the experience of teaching but also with the theory of teaching.” The development of the pragmatics theory is very fast in recent years. The theory of pragmatics become closer with the relation of Chinese teaching and more and more obvious in the function of the guidance for the Chinese teaching. The situation of modern poetry teaching is experience teaching which has inherited for years and lack of guidance of theory. This makes the poetry teaching optional. This article try to solve the problem which exist in poetry teaching and find a new way for poetry teaching by the characteristics of poetry teaching and the related theory of pragmatics.This article has five parts :the first part is introduction which discussed from 4 aspects as the origin,the significance,literature review and research methods. In this part,it put emphasis on interpretation of the literature review from at home and abroad. The second part is the poetry teaching under the theory of pragmatics,mainly explain the relevant theories of pragmatics,illustrate the problems related to the poetry teaching and the feasibility analysis about the relevant between pragmatic theory and poetry teaching. The third part is the basic principles of pragmatic theory guide the poetry teaching which include principles of experience,principle of relevance and principles of commensurability. The fourth part is the strategy of the pragmatic theory to guide the modern poetry teaching. This part is the key of the paper,mainly discusses the specific strategies that pragmatic guide the poetry teaching. This article get into the point from 3 aspects which include the context, the pragmatic subject and words. The 3 aspects are not comprehensive,this article discusses the part that has close correlation with modern poetry teaching. From the contextual point of view,the teachers mainly use reading methods,transfer the situation factors to create a warm class enviroment,and guide the students to imagine. From the angle of pragmatic subject,the teachers starts with the poet and the multidimensional dialogue between teachers and students. From the aspect of discourse,the teacher mainly give the corresponding strategy from the music,color of language, exploration of subject,etc. The fifth part is a specific modern poetry teaching design which is using the theory of pragmatic in the form of instances. The purpose is to verify that the pragmatic theory can guide the practice of poetry teaching. The innovation of this paper is trying to use the related theories of pragmatics to provide guidance in the theory and application of poetry teaching.
