Micro-lesson is a new type of learning resources and the product of education informatization development which has been paid more attention in education field in recent years. Under the traditional teaching mode in our country, the disadvantages such as the obsolete teaching content, the sole teaching method have hindered the development of the students’ language ability. Micro lessons are personalized, highly focused, easy to share and so on, which to a certain extent caters to the individualized learning and development of students, enriches the teaching content and curriculum resources, and promotes the teachers’ professional development at the same time.The research tries to apply micro lessons to middle school English class teaching, and to look into the situation of micro lessons application and English teaching through the ways of questionnaires, interviews and so on. Based on that, the research will design the application plan of high-quality internet micro lessons in middle school English teaching, concretely determine the result of the chosen micro-lesson content in this research, build the basic links of the application of micro-lessons in middle school English teaching: creating the context before class, learning consolidation during class, review and conclusion after class and other expanded supplements. After two months of the selective application of micro lessons in Y middle school English teaching practice, through the teachers’interviews and students’ interviews and questionnaires, the research evaluates and concludes the application effects of micro lessons in Y middle school English teaching to point out the advantages and disadvantages of the application and then to bring up more effective suggestions of the micro-lesson application in middle school teaching.The thesis is divided into five parts:The first part is to comb and analyze the existing researches at home and abroad, determines the research purpose, meaning and method, and elaborates the creative parts and somewhere needed to be made up of the research which is different from other concerned researches.The second part explains the core concept of micro lesson by referring to related documents and discusses the related theories on which the research is based to provide theoretical base for the research.The third part investigates and researches the English classes and application situation of micro lessons to do an overall design. The research is carried out from three aspects: teachers’ interviews, students’ questionnaires and interviews, through which we can know more about the perceptions and attitudes of middle school English teachers and students toward the English teaching, micro lesson application and internet learning.The fourth part determines the micro lesson content and application patterns based on the previous research and analysis including establishing contexts before class, consolidating study in class, review and summary after class, and other supplements. After the formal application of micro lessons, we discuss and evaluate the effects of the micro lessons by interviewing teachers and students and doing questionnaires.The fifth part, based on the above analysis and discussion and combined with the results of questionnaires and interviews, the paper concludes the advantages and disadvantages of micro-lesson application in English teaching practice, and put forward the suggestions which will help to improve the teaching effects by applying micro-lesson to middle school English teaching.
