Chinese is the basis of each subject.Illustration plays an important role and is the second language in Chinese textbook.As the deaf live in mainstream society,they need to learn written language to engage it.Deaf Students depend on visual to get information because of the hearing loss.Most of the deaf children are unable to obtain information from the audio language.Their understanding of many basic concepts is not clear and the cognitive level of things is limited.Illustrations in the textbook can help them understand the content.The quantity and quality of Chinese textbook illustrations will affect the learningresult of deaf children.Illustrations are vivid,intuitive,and bright.There is a close relationship between the illustrations and the content.Illustrations can reproduce the content directly and vividly.At the same time,Textbook illustrations can not only help students understand the meaning and logic of the text,but also improve their interest in reading.Nowadays,Chinese textbook selection issue is controversial.Teachers have found that the length of the the hearing school text is too long,too difficult for deaf student.Besides hearing school textbook doesn't update in time and some of the text content is too backward.All these problems lead to that the choice of textbook has been plagued by teachers.Illustration is an important part of Chinese Textbooks.Through the research can provide the basis for the choice of Chinese textbook in deaf school,as well as provide the basis for the preparation of new Chinese textbooks for deaf school.This study is based on the illustrations of the Chinese textbooks of the deaf schools and the textbooks of the hearing schools published by the People's Education Publishing House for the primary stage.This study used three methods that are text analysis,interviews and comparative study.From the number of illustrations,the function of illustrations and the degree of meet between illustration and text to analyze.The study found:The number of illustrations of deaf schools is more meet to the visual priority cognitive characteristics of deaf children.The number of illustrations of deaf schools is more meet to the visual priority cognitive characteristics of deaf children.The average number of illustrations in the textbooks of the deaf schools is higher than the hearing school textbooks.The function of hearing school illustrations is more modernity.For example the figure and zoomorphism of hearing school illustrations are more vivid and variety and the costumes and hairstyles of the characters are more similar to real life.It can draw attention to deaf students.The illustration arrangement of hearing school shows vivid and flexible.It gives the students a strong visual impact.Deaf school language textbook illustrations seem a bit simple and engraved.The performance style of the illustration is more flexible.Hearing school illustrations pay more attention to the use of cold and warm colors.Hearing school illustrations higher than deaf school In conjunction degree.But the two versions of textbooks have problems in the details that the illustration does not match the text.Aiming at the above problems,putting forward the following suggestions:and ensuring that the number of illustrations;Deaf school textbook should keep pace with The Times;The design of the illustrations should be in accordance with the cognitive features of the deaf.
