Helping students master the core knowledge required by the subject teaching,improve their learning efficiency,develop their mathematical literacy,is one of the primary issues of the math teaching in the contemporary age.The core knowledge teaching is the center of classroom instruction.However,in order to improve the teaching efficiency,in addition to helping the students master the system of the core knowledge that is required,the teacher also needs to help them form a good learning habit,improve their communicative skills,and fulfill their innovative potential.Mind mapping is an efficient tool to construct the system of core knowledge,which is also a tool with brain science,multiple intelligences,and knowledge visualization as its theoretical basis,characterized by focus on a central point;disperse to the surrounding;branches are comprised of key words;the branches form a link to present the relationship between the major points of the subject.The combination of the core knowledge required by the math subject with the technique of mind map is an effective way to help the students master the complicated knowledge network,and have a clear understanding of the relationship between all levels of those key points.As a result,the students' logical thinking skills and creative skills will be improved.The research is aiming to analyze the contents and characteristics of the mathematical core knowledge of junior high school,and arrange the structure of the mathematical core knowledge of junior high school according to the regulations specified in the curriculum standards and the requirements of the students` competence;explore the background,contents and drawing method of the mind map,determine the procedures of drawing the mind map of the mathematical core knowledge of junior high school,and make the preliminary effort to design a mind map of the mathematical core knowledge of junior high school,and summarize the strategies of design,to help the teachers to establish a structural and systematic understanding of the key points of the knowledge in the teaching materials.The documentary research method,content analysis method and action research method are adopted in this paper,in order to establish the theoretical basis of designing the mind map of the mathematical core knowledge of junior high school.In the beginning part of this paper,an analysis will be given in terms of the contents and characteristics of the mathematical core knowledge of junior high school,based on which,the knowledge system of “function” will be taken as an example to present the key parts of the subject and required students` competence of each part taking account of the curriculum standards applied in Shanghai and in the whole country.In the second part,an exploration will be given in terms of the advantages of using the mind map to help the students master the system of the mathematical core knowledge,with a presentation of the steps of designing a mind map of the mathematical core knowledge of junior high school,laying a basis for designing the mind map of the core knowledge in the following part.There will be three types of mind map to be introduced in this paper,which are "section" type,"chapter" type and "topic" type,and a few mind maps of these types will be used into the teaching activity,then the strategies of designing mind map are summarized.By the research of how to use the mind map to present the core knowledge system and the application of this technique into the teaching activities,three conclusions are summarized: 1)The mind map of the core knowledge can be applied into many types of lesson;2)It's more convenient for teachers to use computer software to draw the mind map;3)The mind map of the core knowledge is designed in descending order in the light of knowledge structure.
