Interview survey of high school students indicates that there are a variety of misconceptions on the electromagnetism for the nature of abstraction and non-intuition.In this thesis,an item bank composed of 147 multiple choice questions was built to investigate the misconceptions of electromagnetism of senior high school students based on the present situation of high school students in China.Two sets of three-tier examination papers including choices,reasons and ambiguity of answer were recreated based on the results of two pre-examinations from the item bank.Three-tier examination of three senior high schools of Beijing indicate that there are seven kinds of misconceptions in the electromagnetism,that is the electric field distribution of conductors and insulators,the electrostatic potential,the magnetic force,the electrostatic equilibrium,the electric field lines,the electrical wires in the magnetic field,and the induced electrodynamic potential,respectively.Where the misconceptions of the electric field distribution of the conductors and insulators,and the electrostatic potential were taken place in two different high schools,and the reason items were almost the same,suggesting the validity of the three-order examination based on our item bank.The main advantage of the three-tier test is that the reason items can clearly show how to solve the problems,and the ambiguity of answer can give the master degree of conceptions,which will be utilized to targeted tutor students to conquer the misconceptions.
