Peer Instruction was introduced and kept using in the class of college physics by professor Mazur from Harvard University, which based on teaching experience and practice for many years, through summing up the practice of the formation of a coping for classroom teaching, cooperative learning based on individual learning between students and cooperative learning based on the theory of form. The teaching method has been proved to be a very useful teaching method through the research of Mazur and so on for more than 20 years.Since 1990s,more and more domestic and foreign universities and middle schools have adopted this teaching method.High school physics teaching is divided into theoretical teaching and experimental teaching, peer teaching method applied to the concept of the theory of teaching,as well as the effectiveness of mutual assistance in the experimental teaching. This paper studies the two aspects of theory and practice, and summarizes the current situation of peer teaching at home and abroad. The content of peer teaching method, the principle and steps of teaching and learning are introduced. At the same time, the paper analyzes the physics curriculum standards and teaching materials. At the same time, the paper has carried on the practice research in the high school physics concept class and the experimental class.Through a variety of ways to understand the impact of peer teaching methods to students, students and teachers to understand the attitude and recommendations for peer teaching. At last, the article points out the matters needing attention in the implementation of peer teaching method, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of using peer teaching method.
