Serve and reserve can be described as tennis technology system, the most important two links.Solid serve technology and changing serve tactics is one of the magic weapon for tennis players to win the match, serve is the only one from the other side of the technology, often at the crucial moment of the game through a strong serve to turn the tide;A good receive can instantly reverse the relationship between the active and passive side. That means the passive side becomes the active side. Thus it can weaken the opponent's advantage and control the pace of the game.Just take Murray as an example,he has his own distinctive personal characteristics in serving and receiving. As is known to all of people that serving presents the player's techniques. When speaking of this aspect,Murray does well in it.Usually he can get continuous scores at the crucial moment of a game directly.People speak highly of him for his serving and receiving techniques and tactics. He is good at identifying the opportunity to attack by means of his keen "sense of smell" in each game.He can reverse the roles of the host and the guest and occupy the dominant position in the game by using his own superb double-handed backhand tactics.Through the study of Murray's serving and receiving tactics, this thesis aims to find his technical essence of making good performance in every game.In this way,it can not only provide useful reference for other players in the future, but also it can provide insightful reference for the theoretical study of tennis later on.In the present study, the author chooses the overall 12 game-videos of Murray's in the finals and semi-finals where he won the championships since 2012 as the research objects. The author made an in-depth study on the tactical characteristics of Murray's serving and receiving by using various research methods like literature data method, video observation method, mathematical statistics method and logic analysis method. The results show that Murray's serving and receiving technique has the following characteristics:(1)The placement of Murray's serve mostly concentrates in the inside and outside in the first round of serving. These two areas are also the most likely places where a player can get a high scores during the ACE match. While in the second serving, his placement mainly falls in the middle,no matter in the left serve court or in the right serve court.(2)In the receiving round, the hitting points lie in Murray's right-hand side in order to meet the opponent's outside corner ball in the first serving. The way he adopts to return the ball is by pulling the ball, and cutting away and pushing the ball back and forth if it is an inside corner ball.In response to opponent's usual pursuit of the body ball,he often uses the way of pulling the ball back and also followed by the use of more rapid and aggressive approach to attack. In response to the outside corner ball of the second service from the opponent's right serve court in the first serve, the proportion of various ways Murray uses is quite at the average level. As for the inside corner ball,Murray uses the way of pulling the ball back more frequently.(3)In terms of the return line of the service, the placement of returning the ball back more likely lies in the opponent's backhand side.By doing this,Murray can,on the one hand, prepare more time for his next shot for returning back the ball;on the other hand,he can also cause pressure his opponent. This is true to the opponent's any angle of balls during the second service apparent and obvious.(4)In terms of the depth of returning of balls,Murray plays mainly deep back balls which return to the mid-court of the opponent's,aiming to prepare more time for his next shot for returning back the ball.(5)In terms of service failure, the serve in the left serve court mostly happens in opponent's strong corner and angle balls, and the number of the inner corner ball is higher than the number of outside corner ball. This is true to receive in the right serve court, and the number of the outside corner ball is higher than the number of the inside corner ball.
