Touch rugby is a collective sport against in the same field that has arisen in recent years, It belongs to a kind of simple style of rugby and is popular throughout the West. It was introduced into China relatively late, Because of the differences between Chinese and western culture, it is not mature in china. At present,some primary and secondary schools in Nanjing has done an attempt to carry out this sport.Research and analysis of the problems in the development of the sport and put forward suggestions will contribute to its wider promotion.This paper is based on the present situation of Nanjing elementary school touch rugby as the research object. The paper adopts "The Literature Material Law","Questionnaire Method","Case Analysis Method","Expert Interview Method",and"Mathematical Statistics Method",to do some research and analysis about the basic situation, teacher conditions, Site conditions,and existing problems in the seven primary schools that have been carried out in Nanjing. Combined with the case of Nanjing Gu Ping gang primary school which has been carried out this sport, This paper will put forward some suggestions on the popularization and promotion of touch rugby in primary schools in Nanjing. The results of this paper shows:1.Students in Nanjing primary schools which have been carried out the touch rugby sport whose cognitive level to this sport is not high, The main reasons why students participate in this sport are subjective reasons, Learning to participate in this sport is mainly through the school the way of promotion ; Schools to carry out this activity mostly in the form of community club, the sport is less played in the form of physical education or schools big recess and games, the content is relatively simple.2.Physical education teachers in primary schools which have been carried out the touch rugby sport,whose age presents the characteristics of younger; The proportion of male teachers is slightly more than women, Their teaching age is low, most teachers are undergraduate degree; Physical education teachers in Nanjing primary schools which have been carried out the touch rugby sport whose cognitive level to this sport is not high; Almost all teachers believe that the exercise is valuable for students.3.Physical education teachers in Nanjing primary schools are from school itself,and they don't have a professional rugby background, there are less teachers take part in training, Most student are satisfied with the teaching process of touch rugby; The number of school leaders attached support or general attitude to the project accounted for a large proportion, most parents have a general attitude towards this sport.4.Most schools are lack of rugby teaching materials, touch rugby funds mainly from the school itself, the amount of school funding can basically support the activities carried out; Most schools put their training time after school, very few schools put their training time in physical education; Few schools have no detailed training plan, The characteristics of these schools have in common is the few matches.5.On account of this,making recommendations as follows: physical education teachers should strengthen the guidance of students touch rugby learning and stimulate students' interest in learning; Enrich school touch rugby activities, improve the system of touch rugby learning; Schools should introduce excellent professional football coaches, strengthen the guidance and training of physical education teachers;School leaders and parents should enhance the understanding of touch rugby and pay attention to the development of this sport; Make touch rugby semester work, learning goals and write standardise touch rugby teaching material; Research and develop school-based curriculum suitable for school itself. Strengthen the publicity of this sport and increase the number of the matches; Schools should share experiences, learn together and improve each other.
