"The Analects of Confucius" is an ancient Chinese Confucian classic,which recorded Confucius' s political,ethical and moral ideals.It contains a wealth of ideas and methods for moral education.Its spiritual value has not only affected the Chinese mode of thinking,values,moral concepts and behavior for thousand s of years,but across the ocean,beginning more than 1,500 years ago in Japan,it has had a profound influence on every individual,family and the whole of Japanese society.During the spread of the "Analects of Confucius",the combination of the local traditional culture,with the formation of the spiritual force of Japanese traditional culture,has allowed for amazing achievements in the country.Over a long period of time the values garnered from the “Analects of Confucius" have internalized a deep spiritual nature,and regulated behavior of the Japanese people.After the March 11,2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster which resulted in natural calamities and man-made misfortunes,the Japanese people still strove to help each other.In the face of the adv ersity,they still upheld the ideals of their ancestors.People all over the world praised the people of Japan after the media reported this phenomenon.However,due to the rapid development of modern society and the economy and the changing influence of educational thought and the educational system,moral development in the society has not kept up with the pace of the times.There are many instances of cruelty such as bullying between classmates,the killing of students and other acts of rage.How can we improve young people's spiritual strength? How do we restore the ideal of "Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself." ? These questions should be resolved by the Japanese society,especially in the education sector.Teenagers are still in the developmental stages of their thinking and cognitive abilities,and need guidance and education.During my childhood,parents and teachers of Confucian ideals helped us to understand the truth of life.Teenagers are the future of our country,and it is our duty to pass on the excellent cultural heritage of ancient times,raise the moral level of young people,and promote their healthy personalities.Therefore,this paper,through the study on the application of the "Analects of Confucius" in primar y and secondary schools,through observation,analysis,comparison,case analysis and other methods,intends to explore the feasibility of applying the "Analects of Confucius" to school education,and then put forward effective strategies to improve the mo ral level of the students in Japanese schools.
