As a Chinese quintessence and treasure,Martial arts are the essence of Chinese traditional culture.Under the background of cultural globalization,Chinese traditional culture has been seriously affected,and dazzling light of martial arts is gradually faded.Yiyang city is a small city which is economically underdeveloped in the central part of Hunan province,however,after the development of the joint efforts of several generations,it has a profound cultural heritage of martial arts.In the process of martial arts fitness project,the martial arts exercises appear at the school sports recess of middle and primary schools of Yiyang city,but it has a slow pace of development without sustainable development.Start from the practical value of the martial arts,this study will notice and strengthen the importance of the martial arts education at schools,besides,the study will make an investigation and analysis of the current development situation of martial arts at middle schools in Yiyang City.According to the current situation and existing problems,the study will put forward some suggestions so as to make a better development of martial arts exercises in schoosl.The results showed that:1.During the 40 middle schools of five countries which are under investigation,14 of them organize Wushu aerobics,which account for 35%,however,only 2 schools organize Wushu aerobics for the whole week,which only account for 5%.The result shows that the development situation of the martial arts at middle schools is not so optimistic.2.In middle schools of Yiyang city,62.5% of the school leaders support their schools to organize the martial arts exercises while the “big breaks”.However there are also part of the leaders who think little of organization of martial arts exercises,they do not have a profound understanding of the martial arts exercises,they do not vigorously make the importance of martial arts exercises known in their schools,either.3.Schools in Yiyang city lack of Martial arts teachers which influences the development of martial arts exercises organization in schools directly.What is more,the teaching abilities and teaching methods of PE teachers is not high and rich enough to make the organization of martial arts developed smoothly.Although 79.5% of the PE teachers hold a support attitude towards the organization of the martial arts exercises in schools during the “big breaks”,the percentage of the teachers who have been professionally trained only accounts for11.6%.4.The ways that the students acknowledge martial arts aerobics are very narrow,most of the students make their acknowledgment of it from their teachers during the classroom teaching.Due to the lack of clear acknowledgment of the martial arts aerobics,students may have no awareness of the cultural connotation of the actions in martial arts aerobics,and the school propaganda of martial arts is not powerful enough to arouse the interest of the students to learn it.5.The attitudes of students' parents and the practical situation of the school also have vital influence on the organization of the martial arts exercises during the “big breaks” in schools.6.For those schools,which never carry out martial arts exercises,may continue the tradition of organizing the students to do radio gymnastics.Under the background of exam-oriented education,to organize the martial arts aerobics cannot bring any obvious performances and honors for the schools,which result in the regardless of the school leaders directly.There is a correlation between the lack of school propaganda of martial arts and students' lack of the learning interest.All these reasons hinder the development of the martial arts aerobics in middle schools.According to the investigation,some strategies are put forward in the study:(1)the leaders must pay more attention to the organization of the martial arts in schools.(2)the relevant departments must strengthen the training of the professional martial arts teachers..(3)students and teachers should have a deep awareness of the importance of the martial arts aerobics.(4)schools should strengthen the advertisement of martial arts aerobics in schools.(5)schools should strengthen the extracurricular Wushu aerobics teaching,schools can organize some professional training and competitions.It can help to promote the development of martial arts aerobics in high schools of Yiyang city by them study.The organization and development of the martial arts aerobics also have positive significance and important values on enriching the activities content of the middle school students,enhancing students' physique,promoting students' physical and mental health,strengthening the status of Wushu education and carrying forward and cultivating the national spirit on students.
