Casework Involved In The Study Of The Spiritual Comfort Of The Elderly Living Alone In Rural Areas

With the change of traditional core family structure,and the increasing number of migrant workers in China,there is a special disadvantaged group called the left behind elderly living-alone.Huang Shengwei,the Ministry of civil affairs,pointed that about 16 million of the country's left-elderly in rural areas were faced with problems such as lack of care in life,lack of security and lack of consolation in the spirit.In view of the problems faced by the elderly,the 9 Department of the state jointly issued the opinion on strengthening the care service for the elderly in rural areas.The opinion encourages kinds of social forces to give full play to their own professional advantages.And the opinion provide professional services which psychological counseling,spiritual comfort and living care for the elderly.Through the investigation,the author selected 20 elderly man who lived alone in A rural ares as the research object.The author through questionnaire and interview,in order to understood the living conditions and spiritual comfort status of the old people living left-alone in A rural ares.It is found that there are widespread lack of family spiritual comfort,lack of communication skills and worries about the life and family status of migrant workers.Through in-depth interviews and access to data analysis of the problems what faced by the elderly living alone,the author believes that the following reasons: first,the children long-term migrent workers,and can not be accompanied by the elderly,leading to the lack of family spiritual comfort.Second,they live alone for a long time,lack of communication objects,resulting in weak communication skills.Three,children are not around long-term.The elderly are worried about children safety.Coupled with widowhood,the elderly suffer from a double blow both physically and psychologically.These elderly are prone to symptoms such as depression,anxiety and loneliness,which are not conducive to their health and quality of life.From the perspective of social work,this paper takes the A village of Huaxian as the research object of the spiritual solace of the old people who live alone,and applies the case study on the spiritual solace of the old people living alone in the rural areas.Mainly around the three dimensions of spiritual comfort,we design service activities,that is,emotional comfort,achievement peace and social respect.Guided by the theory of activity and the theory of ecosystem in the case of case service,the service objects are encouraged to take part in activities,to actively mobilize the resources around them,to help solve their own problems of spiritual comfort,to improve their ability to solve problems and to stimulate hope and confidence in life.The professional method of case social work is used to serve the spiritual comfort of the elderly who live alone.In the evaluation of effectiveness,the main purpose is to evaluate the change of the elderly and the achievement of the service goal by means of observation and interview.Finally,the author makes a summary and reflection on the whole service process.The intervention of the case social work can help the service object to solve problems.The task center model can help the author to quickly define the core problem of the case owner and solve the problem in time.But the case work is limited,and the task center model can not help the owner to solve the problem in an all-round way.The problem of solving the spiritual of the old people which living alone in the rural areas needs the joint efforts of many forces.
