Research On The Intervention Of Social Work Of Spiritual Comfort For The Left Behind Elderly Living Alone In Rural Areas

With the continuous development of society,the speed of China’s urbanization is accelerating,the degree of population aging is deepening,the rural and urban economic development is uneven,most of the rural labor force go to the city to work,leaving the elderly living alone in the village.According to a large number of studies,most of the economic support for the elderly living alone in rural areas comes from their children and the support of the relevant national pension policies,which makes the material life of the elderly living alone in rural areas to be satisfied.However,on the basis of material satisfaction,their spiritual comfort needs are also rising.Due to various reasons,their spiritual comfort needs can not be fully met,resulting in their spiritual and psychological loneliness.Coupled with the lack of children’s care and social network support,they are in a state of lack of spiritual comfort for a long time.The social worker and their childrencan give spiritual comfort to the left behind elderly living alone in rural areas,so that they can have a happy old age.This paper takes m village in Enshi City as the research area,with the help of M village committee,carries on the field investigation.The main method is to use questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews to analyze the elderly’s spiritual comfort needs,as well as in-depth understanding of the causes of the elderly’s spiritual comfort problems.Then,under the guidance of social work knowledge and social support theory,the group work method was used to provide spiritual consolation services for the left behind elderly living alone in rural areas,improve their interpersonal communication skills,and build a social support network for the left behind elderly living alone in rural areas.With the help of social workers,children of the elderly and society,the social support network for the left behind elderly living alone in rural areas was constructed It can make up for the lack of spiritual comfort of the left behind elderly living alone in rural areas,promote the elderly to participate in more recreational activities,make their life more colorful,and make them full of hope for life and enjoy their old age.After the intervention of group work on 9 left behind elderly living alone in rural areas,it mainly evaluates the elderly’s satisfaction with the service,the degree of achieving the goal and the role of social workers.Finally,The intervention of group work method can provide more spiritual comfort support for the left behind elderly living alone in rural areas.With the joint efforts of social workers,children of the elderly and other social personnel,the spiritual comfort needs of the left behind elderly living alone in rural areas can be met in an all-round way.
