In order to fully understand the difficulties that students have in learning and applying mathematical language, this study by measuring the students' ability in mathematics reading language representation to expose their representation in the process of transformation in mathematical language is not,at the same time to the student ability to analyze the language representation transformation, the influence of the thinking and problem solving in math, and research whether gender impact on language representation transformation ability.Firstly, the concept of representation and transformation capability is defined through literature analysis.Secondly, the modern mathematical model method, the psychological mechanism of mathematical language transformation in mathematical problem solving and the SOLO classification and evaluation theory are taken as the theoretical basis of this study. The test object is an experimental demonstration high school in Shanghai. The test purpose is as follows:The first is to investigate the students' learning attitude and habits, the types of mathematical language that students have difficulty in learning, and the status of students' representation and changing attitudes towards mathematical language. The second is to use the SOLO classification principle to evaluate the representational ability of students to convert the written language into symbolic language or graphical language in mathematical reading. The third is to explore the influence of gender on students' ability of language representation transformation in mathematics reading, and to analyze the relationship between students' ability of language representation transformation and students' achievement. The fourth is to explain the problems of students in the transformation of language representation in mathematics reading, and to find the reasons from the characteristics of thinking development and cognitive rules. The fifth is to explain the role of language representation transformation in problem solving in mathematics reading and the influence of language representation transformation on the development of thinking in mathematics reading. The sixth is to propose a teaching strategy to promote the transformation of language representation in mathematics reading. Finally, the conclusion of this study is summarized: the ability of students' mathematical language representation transformation is positively correlated with students' mathematics achievement. There is no relationship between students' ability to change mathematical language representation and gender.Students in the language of mathematics characterization of transformation of the main problem is not really understand the concept itself of the denotation and connotation of professional terms, makes it difficult to text information in the form of mathematical content abstract, extracted essence;Whether the problem is properly represented means that the quality of students' problem representation will influence how they solve the problem, and even become the key factor to solve the problem successfully. The transformation of mathematical language representation is beneficial to students' direct thinking, logical thinking and innovative thinking. At the same time,in order to help students understand abstract concepts, conduct high-level thinking activities and improve their ability to solve problems, the following teaching strategies are proposed: optimizing teaching design and strengthening students' ability of multiple representations; To cultivate students' ability of mathematical language expression; To strengthen the practice of simplification of written language and cultivate the ability of information collection and processing;Paying attention to the application of various mathematical representational types;Students are encouraged to use visual representations.
