the institutional repository is the academic research institutions in order to store,manage and academic achievements to establish a digital library,as a way to realize open access in the fastest growing form of widespread attention from home and abroad.The development of universities and colleges in foreign countries is the main force in the construction of institutional knowledge base,so that the number of institutional repositories has been greatly increased,so it has gained attention and discussion.This paper analyzes the development stage of the domestic and foreign institutional knowledge base by means of horizontal analysis,and analyzes the current situation of the construction of the knowledge base of domestic and foreign institutions based on the Open DOAR data,and compares the examples to summarizes the domestic and foreign institutional repository,and give the institutional repository in our country,attaches great importance to the propaganda work,maximize resources open,promoting proper policy,promote the construction of human services,trademark institutional repository,speed up the construction of institutional repository alliance construction enlightenment.
