Research On The Urban Spatial Effects From FDI Of Wuhan

Since reform and opening up, our China is speeding up the pace of integration into the globalization. The joint promotion from industrialization, urbanization, marketization and globalization, city has become the pole of economic growth, it has become the major gathering area of population, funds and information and important strategic pivot to participate in international competition. In the background of midlands rise's strategy, Wuhan has become the first choice for foreign investment in central and western regions with superior investment environment. Changes in the economic field influence on urban development that mainly reflected through the evolution of urban physical space essentially. Wuhan was originally developed from group structure and gradually into outward expansion along the Yangtze River and the axis, the urban spatial structure of Wuhan is changed. According to the list of foreign enterprises in Wuhan as the basis of the research, we will study the spatiotemporal coupling relationship between the spatial arrangement of Wuhan's foreign investment and its evolution of urban spatial structure. The study will provide a new example of empirical research for further improve of foreign investment in single urban areas and urban spatial theory under the background of economic globalization.This paper can be divided into six chapters:The chapter one, we analyze the research background, objective and significance, then put forward technical route, material structure, research methods, areas and data sources, these can build research framework;The chapter two, we propose the basic concept of FDI and urban spatial structure, the relevant theoretical and empirical research abroad are reviewed and evaluated from different perspectives to build theoretical platform of this study;The chapter three, according to statistic yearbook of Wuhan and statistical analysis report of foreign investment, we have reviewed the developing history of utilizing foreign investment and the current developing characteristics;The chapter four, according to the list of foreign enterprises in Wuhan, we can handle dates by ARCGIS and Sector analysis to analyze the foreign-owned enterprises' arrangement in the whole region, built-up area and different industries;The chapter five, by analyzing four periods' TM images, fractal index, compact index of Wuhan to explore the spatial expansion of urban built-up area, we will study the interaction between the two according to the changing spatial layout's track of foreign industry in Wuhan;The chapter six, we will summarize the research conclusion of former chapters and put forward some shortcomings.
