Many scholars'researches express that networks of transportation is one of the composition of the urban spatial structure, the structure and distribution of transportation networks has a great influence on the development of the urban spatial structure. Accessibility can not only be a useful index to measure the structure of transportation network structure, but also weigh the opportunities that the region or the core may gain. Because transportation of the highway has the characteristic of point to point serving with convenience and quickness, specially suited for people and physical moving and communication in medium and small size of the region, it plays an important role in the economic development of Wuhan Conurbation Areas. Researching on the relation of highway's accessibility and the development of the urban spatial structure, which will be contributed to put forward suggests for the plan of transportation and the regulation of the urban spatial structure in Wuhan Conurbation Areas, and promote economy and society of the Conurbation Areas to be healthy, rapidly, and sustainable.This thesis is a positive studying. After reviewing and pondering on the related literatures and theories, an idea that accessibility is an important factor which effects the development of the urban spatial structure is presented in the paper. Choosing qualitative and quantitative analysis. GIS software's spatial and network analysis, mathematical model construction synthesis analysis method to probe into the urban spatial structure in Wuhan Conurbation Areas, the spatial arrangement and the changing of highway" s accessibility are studied as well as the correlation of both.The results suggest that the basic arrangement of highway's accessibility in Wuhan Conurbation Areas decrease gradually on all sides with Wuhan City as a center, the construction of superhighway and other main highway have a great impacts on the arrangement of highway's accessibility, the spatial discrepancy of highway's accessibility zooms out gradually; The development of the urban spatial structure in Wuhan Conurbation Areas is still at the umature phase, the structure of urban scale is unreasonable, its spatial distribution is unbalanced, and the development of population and economics'spatial structure in the Conurbation Areas is not balanced, which single pole accumulative effect is obvious; Along with the promoting of highway's accessibility. the time distance and spatial distance between city-towns shorten, and the trend of the urban spatial structure developing along development axis is intensified gradually; Although highway's accessibility has a strong association with the development of the urban spatial structure, their spatial assemble still need to be improved. Their relationship indicates that the urban scale and its spatial distribution has a strong association with highway's "scale an arrangement" firstly, but the density of population and highway's accessibility doesn't match, and the correlation coefficient of urbanization of population and highway's accessibility is not high; Secondly, highway's accessibility impacts urban location advantage, and has influence on the economic link between citys in the Conurbation Areas, but the correlation coefficient of highway's accessibility and Per capita GDP is not high. Combining the arrangement of highway's accessibility in the Conurbation Areas, the construction of highway's network should be keeping to intensify, the cooperativeness shape of highway transportation and other transportation network should be propelled, the development of the urban space of the Conurbation Areas along development axis should be deepened, the urban scale structure of the Conurbation Areas should be accelerated to multipolar core, and the urban industry" division and cooperation should be regulated.
