The Study On Consumption Structure Of Henan Urban Households

In recent years, how expand domestic demand to achieve sustained economic growth have became a hot topic, and correspondingly, the problems related to consumption have became to hot spots of academics and policy makers. Consumption Structure's problem is an important component of the consumption problem, it reflects the level of consumption, content, quality, and the satisfaction of consumer demand to a certain extent, so also received sufficient attention.In this paper, selected the urban residents in Henan Province as the research object, used the 1978-2013 consumption data to systematically analyze the present situation, the change trend of the consumption structure of urban residents in Henan province, the different income level of urban residents consumption structure differences, and put forward some suggestions of optimization.Results of this study showed that:1. From the perspective of static, the overall level of consumption in Henan Province is lower than the national average level of consumption; the subsistence consumption ratio is also larger; the basic consumption needs are met; the marginal propensity to consume positively correlated with income; the demand positively correlated with income and negatively correlated with price.2. From the perspective of dynamic, since the reform and opening up,(1)The average propensity to consume whole fluctuating downward trend in Urban Residents, it meets the law of diminishing average propensity to consume.(2)The type of consumption patterns of urban residents in Henan province is lagging type and it is not conducive to sustained economic development.(3)In the eight consumer items, the food consumption expenditure continued to grow, but Engel Department to gradually reduce and the diet gradually healthlization. The clothing consumption expenditure increased year after year, but the proportion shows volatility declining trend, residents pay more attention to comfortable and fashion of clothes. The housing consumption increased significantly, its proportion rose first then decreased and the living environment improved. There was little change in the proportion of household equipment, and it simultaneous increase with total consumption, various household appliances gradually gained popularity. The proportion of health care was raised, residents pay more concern to health. The proportion of transportation and communication, education and entertainment are also rising, the level of residents' consumption has increased.(4)1978-2013 years are divided into seven stages, the average degree of variation were 2.86, 7.39, 5.26, 6.11, 7.58, 3.93, 4.08 percentage points. Food has been playing a key role for the contribution of consumption structure. As income increases, some developmental and enjoyment of consumer items' contribution of consumption structure gradually increase, become new consumption hot spots. And the contribution rate of consumption tends to be more balanced, consumer hot spots become more and more diversified consumption structure optimization and upgrading.3. From the perspective of different income level, the level of income characterize the level of purchasing power, caused the consumer behavior, consumption structure of residents there are similarities and differences. Consumption gap between different income groups was significantly less than the income gap. The average propensity to consume is high of lowincome groups, and has stronger consumer willingness than higher income groups so is the greater role of consumer-driven. Eight categories of consumer goods showed a difference between different income groups, overall, the lower the income, the more subsistence consumption, the higher the level, the more enjoy consumption.
