In China,soybean's position is comparable to rice,wheat and corn.Soybean is known as a food crop and oil crop.In addition,soybean is not only an ecological crop,but also a strategic crop.It plays an important role in promoting the national economy.From 2002,Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China began to implementing the "soybean revitalization plan" nationwide,has also developed a "national agricultural products in regions Plan(2003-2007)" and other normative documents for planning and guidance soybean industry production layout,accelerating the development of soybean production in China,from 5.09 million tons in 1949 to 14.6 million tons in 2015.However,the unit output benefit in China is much lower than the United States and other countries.By looking at the trend of recent years,planting area and total output of soybean showed a gradually downward trend.In 2015,China's soybean imports number is 5.56 times as many as gross output.Anhui Province is one of the traditional soybean producing areas,and it is an important agricultural base for soybeans,soybean planting area and total production are top four in China.Anhui Province across the north and south,mainly plains in the north and mainly mountains in the south,complex and diverse topography and climate naturally formatted three different soybean production areas,namely the north,the middle area and south area of Anhui Province,whereas the current soybean production in Anhui Province is still the traditional way of planting,production areas are scattered,level of mechanization and technology relatively low,the unreasonable production layout needs improvement and optimization.This study is mainly based on comparative advantage theory,the theory of regional production decisions and farmers' theory.Initially,by exploring per unit area yield of soybean,total production,changes in acreage of Anhui Province and cities within Anhui during the year 2000 to 2014 to analyse the present situation of soybean production layout in Anhui Province.Then,analyse the changes in various production areas and geographic centre of gravity.After that analyse the soybean production comparative advantage in different cities of Anhui Province.Next,in terms of the natural environment,economic benefits,science and technology and policy environment to explore the factors that influence soybean production layout in Anhui Province,and initiate empirical analysis according to the panel data which composed by sectional data and time series data among cities in the period of 2000-2014.Finally,based on the above analysis,offer policy recommendations to provideguidance and theoretical support for optimizing soybean production layout in Anhui Province.The study found that Bozhou plays an important role in soybean industry in Anhui Province.The north region is not only the geographic center of the soybean industry in Anhui Province,but also the comprehensive advantages of the regional soybean production in Anhui Province,while the south region is the emerging area of soybean production.According to the influence factors of soybean production layout,the technological level and the natural resources are important factors that affecting the level of soybean production layout while the import level and the policy do little effect on the soybean production layout.Therefore,taking advantages of the soybean production in Huaibei area,this area should as the main soybean production area.Improving the level of mechanization of production,optimizing soybean varieties,promoting chemical fertilizer science during soybean production process,expanding the scale of production in this area.Meanwhile,take the south Huai river region as the emerging soybean production area,mining potential resources to improve soybean yields.
