The flow of rural labor has provided the impetus for the rapid development of our country's economy and society. However, the rural labor in the process of employment can not have the urban registrations,so there is a huge loss of welfare.Based on the relevant knowledge of economics and the survey data, this paper analyzes the welfare loss of rural labor flow and urban employment. In the first part of this thesis, the literatures about rural labor's mobility and their welfare are arranged and studied.Though these literatures and the questionnaire about rural workers in Xinyang,we find that the welfare benefit are different between them due to the effect of individual age, education level, vocation situation and occupation stratum. In this investigation, based on the feasible capacity theory together with the combination of factor analysis and differential analysis,we construct welfare measuring factor and carry out the empirical analysis of Xinyang's survey data. The software named SPSS is used to analyze the data collected by questionnaires. From the result of analysis,we find that four factors significantly affect the rural labor's welfare, namely, residential environment, income status, work environment and physical mental conditions.Comparing the respondents classified by different education level, occupation stratum and occupational groups, this thesis obtains some relevant conclusions. The comparison based on education level reveals that the rural labors graduate from elementary or junior high school have a relatively low walfare. However, some others which graduate from senior high school or college school have a better situation, their welfare is affectedby individual age, working experience, skill proficiency and so on.The comparison based on occupation stratum reveals that the welfare level of rural labor is proportional to their stratum. So inspiring them by training the vocational skills and raising wages can improve their welfare situation. The comparison based on occupational groups shows that the fourth category group has a higher welfare level than other three groups. The people of this group have a better situation on residential environment, income status, work environment and physical mental conditions.Private sector and senior management are the typical occupations of this group, these people have the high income, stable work and the sense of belonging through their dwellings. They wish to be real city residents through their own efforts. From the investigation, the dilemma of these people is that they have the different welfare benefit compared with city residents in the city life.Based on the results of the above research, the corresponding policy recommendations are put forward: Improve the minimum wage mechanism and increase the rural labor's income;Perfect the system of right protection;Make public services equal and promote rural labor to settle in urban;Enrich people's spiritual and cultural life and promote social integration. For different groups, government and enterprises should develop different policies.
