The tourism is a modern service industry and strategic pillar industry of national economic growth, the economic impact is increasingly prominent. Tourism is to become the highest industry of contribution to GDP around the world, the proportion reached 9.1%, more than the automobile manufacturing and other industries in 2011. Since 2009, the state council issued "the opinion on accelerating the development of tourism", since there is a new development of tourism in our country, the economic status of national product rise gradually. Tourism is known as the "sunrise industry" and "smokeless industry", has become a pillar industry, many countries and regions in the proportion of the national economy is rising. Research of the regional tourism economic emerges rapidly in the academic fields. There are lots of unique tourism resources in Shaanxi province, geographical condition is superior, the tourism development started earlier, the silk road economic belt and so on the national policy bring new opportunities for Shaanxi tourism development,but facing the increasingly intense competition environment,summarizing the development of tourism economy in Shaanxi province since the new century, analysising the economic benefit, mining and reviewing its development potential and competitiveness potential can be converted to provide reference for the future, to avoid some problems emerging in the process of tourism economic development, become the urgent need of research topics. In-depth study of regional tourism economy and tourism economic development potential is also development trend of The Times, this paper not only summarizes the regional tourism economic development in the past and in the face of the fierce competition of tourism can be grasped the nettle, but also it is of great significance to promote regional economic development. This paper selected from two aspects from the regional tourism economic research, economic benefits and development potential, were studied.In this paper, based on statistical yearbook data of Shaanxi province of all years in the new century, regarding Shaanxi province as a case study. First of all, using the correlation analysis, regression analysis, methods of tourism's contribution to the national economy model from four aspects of Shaanxi province from 2001 to 2013 is analyzed as a whole and the municipal tourism economic benefits, the purpose is to explore the development of the Shaanxi provincial tourism economic contribution, and various cities in the province tourism economic differences in space shows the characteristics of the region; Then, using the coupled coordination degree model, through the construction of tourism demand and supply system, analyzes the tourism industry in Shaanxi province from 2001 to 2013 degrees and coordination; Then, the system analyzes the influencing factors of tourism economic development process of action and its mechanism; Finally, based on the theory of sustainable development,constructing the evaluation index system of tourism economic development potential, using principal component analysis (pca), from 2001 to 2013 in Shaanxi province as a whole of tourism economic development potential of the diachronic empirical analysis, to improve economic benefits and development potential of the proposed the concrete strategy of the tourism economic development in Shaanxi province.Research conclusions are as follows:(1) Tourism economic benefit is remarkable, the pulling function of industry is being strongly. GDP of Shaanxi province and tourism revenues during the 13 years in 2001-2013 is growing year by year, the provincial tourism income and there is significant positive correlation between GDP and tourism income and there is an upward trend in tourism income as a share of GDP, the proportion is up to 13.31%in 2013, tourism industry become the important impetus of economic growth; Tourist foreign exchange earning and export trade is being steady healthy development at the beginning of the new century;There is significant positive correlation between GDP and tourist foreign exchange income,and GDP will be increased by 961.42 units while tourist foreign exchange income increase 1 per unit; Tourism development plays a positive role in promoting employment effects, employment elasticity average is 0.7091, average employment elasticity is greater than one, two, three industry; The tertiary industry correlation between Shaanxi tourism and second industry is slightly greater than the third industry correlation, showing that there is a huge space for the third industry development which is closely associated with the travel.(2) The tourism economic benefits strengthen gradually, the regional difference is obvious from the aspect of space. Travel around the city economic development gap is bigger, xi "an tourism revenue is much higher than other cities, but the xi'an tourism dependency slower growth in recent years, the emerging of the ecological tourism city in southern Shaanxi tourism dependency of shangluo and ankang is increasing, over xi'an; Xi'an has become the growth pole of tourism development in Shaanxi Province.The domestic tourism income, tourist foreign exchange income and tourism revenues of the guanzhong region xi'an as the center of in 2001-2013 annual average are higher than other cities;The quantity of star-rated tourist scenic spots, hotels and travel agencies increase increasingly, but distribution of regional is uneven,the proportion of xi'an is larger.(3) The coupling coordination degree of tourism industry in the supply and demand system has been increasing over time. However, tourism supply and demand coordination degree has experienced constantly enhance the evolution process of the small wave motion, embodied in different times different speed.2001-2004, both the supply and demand system of coupling coordination degree is low, at the preliminary stage, disorder; Coordination degree rise in 2004-2009 can be defined as moderate coordination phase, barely coordination; For the coordination degree of the fast growth stage from 2010 to 2013, good coordination.(4) 2001-2013, the rise of Shaanxi tourism development potential has experienced from slow growth to rise steadily and rapidly rising process, and development potential is rising year by year, thanks to the government's strategic decision and the market demand.2001-2002, belongs to the early stage, steady rise stage;2003-2009,belongs to Steady rise stage;2009-2013, belongs to the rapidly rising stage. During 2001-2013, the tourism economic development potential changed, the concrete condition can be divided into three categories:the first category, the zero range, including xi'an, shangluo and tongchuan city; The second, the small fluctuation area, the area of minor changes to 1, baoji, xianyang, weinan, ankang municipality, this kind of regional tourism economy development more smoothly; The third kind, big range, yan'an,yulin city, under the control and management of the government the region tourism economy develop very fast. The innovation of this study lies in:(1) Tourism economic benefits and development potential for the dynamics of the empirical analysis, based on the theory of sustainable development and to build a development potential evaluation index system of influencing factors are added to existing research.(2) This paper expounds the different period, and puts forward the transform of Shaanxi tourism economic development potential for the competitiveness of specific strategies.
