To solve the problem of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers", is very significant to realize the goal of build an all-round well-off society in China on time. The development of rural areas needs sufficient and effective financial support. But for a long time, financial reform and development in rural areas lags behind which in cities of China. The amount and the type of rural financial institutions are both less, still cannot meet the demand of rural financial market far away. Since 2007, as one of important new type of rural financial institutions in China, rural banks is endowed with the historical mission to fill and activate the rural financial market. At present, the sustainable development of rural banks, has important practical significance to deepen the financial reform and development in rural areas.Rural bank appears in Guizhou province since the second half of 2008. In late December 2015, there are 47 rural banks opening in Guizhou. This paper focus on the rural banks whether can achieve sustainable development and how to realize the sustainable development. By using strategic management theory and SWOT analysis, this paper try to build the optimal strategy for the sustainable development of rural banks in Guizhou. Through research, it is indicated that rural banks in Guizhou province have a good development situation, given by the policy and law, they have much comparative advantage and development opportunities, while there are challenges such as market orientation deviation, low profitability, lack of innovation. Base on that, this paper points out, to realize sustainable development, rural banks in Guizhou should enlarge their own advantages and grasp the external opportunities, adhere to the strategy of "grassroots" bank by differentiation and specialization development. This paper provides the specific recommendations in six aspects, which include deepening target market, expanding business scope, enhancing brand awareness, improving corporate governance, strengthening human resources management, improving the policy support system, implementing differentiation and dynamic regulation.
