Making a reasonable production plan is a key step in the process of enterprises production using information technology, which is also a core part of the production management system. With the continuous development of mobile devices manufacturing industry and the change of its competitive environment, higher requirements have been raised for the flexible, intelligent and professional production planning system. Therefore,the optimization and research for this kind of complex system has been the forefront in domestic and overseas research field. Due to the high efficiency characteristic when dealing with such issues, the theory of constraints and advanced planning and scheduling system are paid more attention, and are becoming the research topics in this field. In this paper, an advanced planning and scheduling system for MTO enterprises which is based on the theory of constraints is studied, including the implementation of the system data requirements for production capacity, the reflection of the theory of constraints in terms of master production scheduling and capacity requirements planning, etc.,as well as the specific practical application.Firstly, the research status at home and abroad of the reorder point method, enterprise resource planning model, JIT mode and theory of constraints is introduced, a detailed analysis of their advantages and disadvantages is proposed, which lays the foundation for specific applications behind.Secondly, a detailed description has been given about the theory of constraints being applied to designing an actual production planning system. A design solution for a flexible production planning system is also provided based on the methods of the theory of constraints, bottlenecks-based production scheduling rules, the material inputting plan pulled by DBR model, multi-stage associated production plan model, etc. And the system was applied in a component manufacturing firm of 3C industrial sector, reflecting its necessity and broad prospects in practical engineering application.Then, as to the selection of balancing programs for the automated production line under different production capacity and different production mode condition, SIMIO is used for the simulation of intelligent plant production and logistics behavior. By validating and analyzingthe calculating methods of the different types of processing units, it shows that simulation analysis has great reliability in balance and optimization of the production lines, as well as great importance and practicability in the intelligent workshop framework.Lastly, the main work of this thesis is summarized, and the future research is prospected.
