Improving the operating performance is the most important goal for listed commercial banks in the economic situation, which is becoming more complex little by little. In this paper, listed commercial banks will be taken for examples, which work as an independent system for study. The way to improve the performance of listed commercial banks will be studied from the perspective of capital structure. Putting sample data's availability, periodic and the representation on the share of the market into consideration, we selected 14 listed commercial banks as a representative for empirical research. Three input indexes to measure bank's capital structure and two output indexes to measure bank's business performance were chosen at last. Then deap2.1 was used to realize DEA model. Finally, the efficiency of index of listed commercial banks was analyzed according to the implementation results.The following conclusions can be made through the empirical study: the operating performance and the share of top five shareholders' shareholding are inversely related to one another, a reasonable and effective top five shareholders' shareholding is 30%- 45%; It is best for improving business performance when the ratio of the supplementary capital and the core capital is maintained between 30%- 50%; A reasonable and effective capital adequacy ratio range is 11%- 12%; It can be improved from the perspective of pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency; The average of index to measure the growth of listed commercial banks is in the low point. Based on the above conclusions, some suggestions were given to improve the operating performance for listed commercial banks eventually.
