The Study On New Rural Financial Services Of Fujian Province In The 1930s And 1940s

The rural financial situation has undergone drastic changes in the 1930s and 1940s. Under the impact of the modern financial industry, the old financial indust ry continued to decline.The rural financial has gradually dried up.This article took the new rural financial services of Fujian province in the 1930s and 1940s as th e research object,the area controlled by the National Government as the geograph ical research scope.Trying to use the method of history, finance and economics an d other disciplines to do a comprehensive combing about new rural financial ser vices of Fujian province in this period.Traced the existence of the old financial in dustry such as the united society organism, the pawn organization and the private b anks.Analyzed the rural development and the expansion of new financial rural fina ncial service.The national government began to remedy in rural areas,which also w as the background of the new rural financial services' development in Fujian pro vince.Analysising the performance of these services, we can find that the new rura 1 financial services in some degree promoted the recovery and development of the agriculture of Fujian,especially the development of special agricultural products,s uch as the tea, fishery, sugarcane and so on,broaden the farmers' financing channels to a certain extent;changed their borrowing habits, cultivated their new financial con sciousness.However, the new financial services still exist some limitations,such as the shortage of the financial talents, the absence of the financial supervision and ot her issues, which have become the bottlenecks of the new rural financial services. The study of this subject aims to make some supplement to the research of the r egional financial history of Fujian, and to provide historical reference to present a gricultural financial reform in China.
