| Citrus fruits are widely cultivated around the world for its rich nutrition.Although China is the largest producer of citrus fruits,it is not a competitive country of its export,citrus export accounted for a small proportion of production.Chinese citrus exports are restricted by various factors which have an important influence on international competitiveness and national market power.Therefore,this article analyzes the international competitiveness of the export of Chinese citrus,calculates the strength of international market power by using econometric model,and analyzes the primary factors which affect international market power and puts forward some related suggestions.It helps to improve export pattern of the international Chinese citrus market and the trade environment and enhance the export status in the international market.The article analyzes the current situation of citrus export by utilizing the supply of citrus,export from China,and market distribution using the comparison analytic method.Then choosing some competitiveness evaluation index related to export,such as revealed comparative advantage index and trade competitiveness index to study the degree of the international competitiveness of Chinese citrus export,the result is the international competitiveness of Chinese citrus export is not strong.Using the method of theoretical research and empirical research,and using the export of Chinese citrus system data,the residual demand elasticity model and multiple linear regression analysis to empirically calculate Chinese citrus export international market power,it found that the international market power is not strong.At the same time,the article analyzes the main factors affecting the export of Chinese citrus,the main results are:(1)The export price is lower than other countries.Chinese citrus were sold at a low price in the international market,it almost has no ability to control price and market power are not obvious in reality.(2)The production cost is higher than other countries.Higher citrus production costs are the main factor affecting the Chinese citrus international market power.(3)Low export earnings.Lower profit is not conducive to the Chinese citrus international market power.(4)Chinese citrus supply does not match to the world demand which led to the lack of international market power.(5)Too much trade barriers.The high trade barrier is the main external factor of international market power.This article puts forward some suggestions based on the analysis of international competitiveness and market power:Firstly,the government,trade associations and export enterprises should cooperate closely to form resultant force.Secondly,expand the export market actively and promote diversification of citrus export market.Thirdly,respond to foreign technical trade barriers more actively,keep export unobstructed.Fourthly,change the scattered operation model and improve business effciency through intensive and standardized production.Lastly,try to balance the export of citrus and market demand. |
