In recent years,the level of corporate social responsibility in China has been unsatisfied.Some enterprises in the pursuit of economic interests at the same time seriously damaged the interests of stakeholders and society,the overall development of social responsibility in the initial stage.The decision-making role of corporate top management determines that they should take the primary responsibility for CSR issues.The level of CSR of a firm often depends on its ability to respond to society,which depends on the ability of top management to respond to CSR problems,especially the ethical competencies that can make effective social responsiveness.At present,the research of ethical competence model is mainly focused on the education,medical care,public sector and the whole level of enterprise,and few scholars located the research object in the top management of the corporate.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the elements of ethical competence model of corporate top management based on corporate social responsiveness and to seek high-level managers in the selection and training of enterprises,to promote the development of corporate social responsibility and improve corporate social responsibility performance.This paper sorts out the domestic and foreign theoretical study of corporate social responsiveness,competence and competence model,ethical competence and ethical competence model firstly,then explains the relationship between corporate social responsiveness and corporate social responsibility,and finally defines the concept of ethical competence and ethical competence model.Based on the research results of ethical competence of medical scholars,education and public official,this paper summarizes ethical competence index that may be used by corporate senior managers.On this basis,this paper interviews with 23 corporate top management by using behavioral event interviews,and initial screens ethical competence of top management based on corporate social responsiveness.Based on the 18 ethical competence indexes of top management,the questionnaire is designed.In this study,307 valid questionnaires are sent to the top management of MBA and EMBA students in seven colleges and universities in Wuhan,as well as top management who recommended by supervisors and alumni in Wuhan,Shanghai and Shenzhen.Through the reliability analysis,validity analysis and factor analysis of the questionnaire,this paper constructs an ethical competence model that includes ethical norms,ethical awareness,ethical maturity ability,ethical autonomy ability,ethical execution ability,ethical problem solving ability,ethical advocacy ability,respect,empathy,ethical motivation and commitment.At the same time,through the construction of ethical competence model of top management based on corporate social responsiveness,we study the evaluation system of ethical competence,and use the evaluation results as the measure of the selection and training of executives in the enterprise board of directors.
