In 1989,China’s first meaningful theme park "Splendid China" opened in Shenzhen.Since then,China’s theme park industry embarked on a tortuous path of development.In recent years,with the development of Chinese economy and improvement of people life,theme park is gaining importance in the leisure life of the residents.Thus,domestic and foreign capital both take the attention to China theme park tourist market.Realizing the coming spring of theme park development and increasingly fierce competition,the domestic theme park will need to seek a breakthrough in transition,make full use of the trend to grow.Tokyo Disney is a successful and classic case to learn.Therefore,this paper analyzes the Tokyo Disney project construction,project management,market operation and management efficiency and its influencing factors,to get some inspiration for domestic theme park development,helping to upgrade domestic theme park,enhance the quality of urban leisure life,promote the sustained and healthy development of tourism industry.The object of this research is Tokyo Disney,and the focus is the operation status quo and its influencing factors.Methods include literature research,comparative research and quantitative research.Based on the literature review and analysis,the business mode ’dynamic balance of investment and income’ have been an effective tool for Tokyo Disney business rapid growth,resulting in Tokyo Disney’s leadership in Japan and worldwide theme park industry.Tokyo Disney products show four main characteristics:the topicalization of the products,the participation of the content,the performance of the labor and the normalization of renovation.Quantitative research results show that,firstly,for market operations,Tokyo Disney tourist market is showing a staged rising trend,with the help of a wide age range of visitors mainly female and coming from Tokyo metropolitan area.The average residence time is over 8 hours and consumer spending keep steady.The market operation strategy,facility configuration and environment construction have decisive effect on the reception scale,residence time and consumption expenditure.Secondly,for operating efficiency,tourist ticket consumption,commodity consumption and food and beverage consumption are three drivers for theme park revenue.Moreover,consumption habits are the fundamental guarantee of the park revenue.The comparative results show that,compared with Paris Disney and Hong Kong Disney,staged increasing in Tokyo Disney attendance seems to be clear and expenditure per capita enjoyed a large base while little change.One possible prediction for Tokyo Disney is that international tourists may become a more important source of incremental market in the future.
